Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric Revealed, Includes Turbo Variant That Does 0-60 in 2.4s

Porsche has just revealed the Cayenne Coupe Electric, which sits alongside the petrol and plug-in hybrid variants in the lineup and is aimed directly at drivers looking for significant performance as well as a lot of comfortable luxury. The new coupe, available in three trim levels, combines Porsche’s quick handling, plenty of range potential, and all the practical amenities you’d expect from a car that’s just as happy to deal with the daily grind as it is to take you to the limits in serious style.

From the start, the design choices exude a clear, distinct personality. Just one look at the dropped roofline and its echoes of the smooth 911 shape reveals that this is no ordinary Cayenne SUV, what with its redesigned windscreen and adjustable rear spoiler that adjusts on the fly as you drive. The drag coefficient drops to 0.23 as a result, boosting efficiency without requiring any of the styling compromises that are common with such changes. The high-gloss black trim on the windows and flush glass at the back make the overall appearance clean and planted, while maintaining the broad, athletic stance that is so characteristic of a Porsche.

The performance stats speak for themselves, and it is evident that every variant of the car will be extremely fast. The standard model, for example, has 435bhp and 615lb-ft of torque, all of which is transmitted to all four wheels via an 800-volt system, allowing you to reach 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 143mph. The S model has 657bhp and 796lb-ft, reducing the 0-60 time to 3.6 seconds and increasing the highest speed to 155mph. Then there’s the Turbo, which generates an impressive 1,139bhp and 1,106lb-ft and accelerates to 60 in 2.4 seconds, with a top speed of 162mph. Launch control is available on all variations, as is rear-axle steering, with the S and Turbo editions also having torque vectoring and the full Active Ride suspension, which reads the road and adjusts in real time to counter any body motion.

The 113kWh battery is, of course, at the heart of the powertrain, and real-world testing on other electric Cayenne models indicates a real-world range of around 360 miles. Larger optional tyres will reduce that figure slightly, but it still a really remarkable spec sheet. When you do need to top up, the 800-volt architecture allows you to go from 10-80% in under 16 minutes at a good charging station, and connectivity in North America includes both a NACS connector on the driver-side rear fender and a standard J1772 AC port on the passenger side, with a CCS adapter thrown in as a nice little extra from the factory.

Practical touches save the vehicle from feeling like all show and no substance. Owners have two options: a two-seater rear seat bench or a 2+1 arrangement, both with electronic adjustments that glide and recline separately and making it a pleasure to get comfy. For cargo, there’s a decent-sized front trunk and a large rear compartment with backrests that fold flat at the push of a button from within the hatch, simple as that. We’re talking a serious 7716-pound towing capacity, and if you want a little more capability, the Off-Road Package increases the approach angle for light trail work, all of this is smoothed out by adaptive air suspension, which handles the ups and downs of passengers or trailers with ease.

Inside, the Electric is clearly from the same Cayenne family as the SUV, but they’ve added a few things to improve your experience even further. Every model comes equipped with a standard panoramic glass roof, as well as the Sport Chrono package, which includes drive-mode settings and a timing display. The big digital display above the driver’s seat is an excellent piece of technology, with the central screen handling navigation and media, while optional extras include a passenger display and an augmented reality head-up projection for those who insist on seeing everything on screen.

Prices range from $113,800 for the standard electric coupe to $168,000 for the Turbo (minus the $2350 destination charge), with initial deliveries due by the end of summer 2026. Porsche is positioning the coupe to take a chunk of the market that already prefers the electric version to the standard body style.
