Clipping campaigns explained: The verified-view model

Marketing budgets are governed by one number: CPM, or cost per thousand impressions. On paid social platforms, CPM averaged about $4.82 on TikTok and $8.19 on Meta across 2025.

A clipping campaign is a marketing model in which brands pay independent creators to turn source material into short-form social content and distribute it from their own accounts.

The brand pays per thousand verified views rather than simply paying for production or media placement.

It differs from traditional UGC marketing, where brands commonly pay creators a flat fee per video. In clipping, the focus is performance-priced distribution: how many verified views the content receives after it is posted.

Lumina Clippers reports more than 18 billion verified views and a network of over 62,000 vetted clippers for clients including Adobe, Midjourney and podcast platform Riverside.

The company says clipping campaign pricing typically starts around $5,000 and can run into six figures. The brand controls the budget, which can be aligned with their outcome if it’s global virality or an extra 1M views a month on their brand.

“An hour of source material yields thousands of clips. Instead of relying on one brand account to post once, the campaign creates a distributed network of creators who can each find a different audience,” says Rhys McKay, Founder & CEO of Lumina Clippers.”

Lumina Clippers says Adobe content generated over 100 million views through clipping, Wispr Flow drew more than 314 million views in 30 days, and Riverside generated over 50 million views.

Clipping fits best as a reach and awareness channel, not as a substitute for precision targeting. It can create organic discovery at scale, but brands still need clear creative standards, appropriate disclosures and safeguards against clips being shared out of context. For that reason, it is typically used alongside paid media, retargeting and broader brand marketing.
