It only takes a few minutes to set up the nodes; simply place them wherever you need coverage, turn them on, and then connect to the network using your phone, as the name will appear for you to choose. There is no need to create an account or pay a monthly subscription, and you will not be reliant on any towers or wires. Some people have even used this approach to stay in touch with friends when hiking, boating, or anywhere out in the wilderness; simply drop a few nodes and you may continue as usual.
