How Kelly He-Sun went from six years of corporate spreadsheets to teaching millions AI productivity tips

In the current AI boom, the people best placed to teach professionals how to use these tools are not always the ones building them.
Kelly He-Sun, a former project leader at Boston Consulting Group, now teaches working professionals how to use AI tools through her content channel, @kellycareermode. Technology companies increasingly work with social media creators to explain their products, and her consulting background gives her an angle most tech reviewers don’t have.
He-Sun spent nearly six years at Boston Consulting Group, where she says she used Microsoft Office and other corporate tools every day on client work. She stepped back from consulting in mid-2024 to build a content practice under @kellycareermode.
Today she demonstrates many of the same tools she once used at her desk, in workflows that office workers will recognize from their own jobs.
Why tech companies work with creators who know the workflow
Large technology companies want creators who have done the work themselves. Those creators can show a product inside a real task, and they already have an audience of the professionals the companies are trying to reach. Microsoft and OpenAI have both run paid creator campaigns for their AI products.
He-Sun says Microsoft brought her on as one of the creators for its Microsoft 365 Copilot “30-day challenge” in late 2025, a multi-week campaign encouraging professionals to use Copilot in their everyday work.
She says OpenAI also worked with her in 2026 on campaigns for Codex and ChatGPT for Excel and Google Sheets. Two of her videos on AI and Excel have passed 3.8 million views and 600,000 views.
“I see AI not as a replacement for existing tools such as Excel and PowerPoint, but as an accelerator for the work professionals are already doing. The biggest opportunity is building AI habits like a muscle and reimagining existing workflows,” He-Sun said.
AI productivity tips from Kelly He-Sun across the corporate workflow
The tips below come from He-Sun’s own experience and testing.
Documents and email: Microsoft Copilot can pull information from files across OneDrive, so a user can draft an email that brings in data from a meeting transcript or an Excel file instead of copying it over by hand.
Analysis: ChatGPT’s Codex and Excel integration can build models from scratch and check existing spreadsheets for errors and possible improvements. It can also walk a user through how an unfamiliar file works.
Presentations: Tools such as Genspark can turn a prompt into a first-draft slide deck, which the user then edits, instead of building every slide from a blank page.
The advice follows the same rule she applies to AI in general: start with a task you already do, then look for the manual steps a tool can remove. Starting with the tool and hunting for a use tends to waste time.
He-Sun says she has worked with more than 130 brands on content since late 2024, and that more than 70 percent of those partnerships involved AI features and tools. She names Notion AI, Indeed’s AI-powered Career Scout, QuillBot and Genspark among them, along with smaller AI tools for slide design, data analysis and meeting transcription.
AI hardware makers have joined in too. She has created content featuring EVEN Realities’ G1 smart glasses, which can record video and display teleprompter scripts, and the Comulytic Note Pro, a recorder with built-in AI transcription.

Tech companies’ interest in creators now goes beyond sponsored posts to paid advertising campaigns and in-person industry events.
He-Sun studied business in Canada and spent nearly six years in consulting and finance before building her content practice. She continues to publish career, business and technology content under @kellycareermode.
