Three Atlases Row as One, Boston Dynamics’ Humanoid Robots Deliver Viking Row at Headquarters

Boston Dynamics has released a new video from its offices that shows three humanoid robots executing a Viking Row in rhythm. The video shows the robots in a wide open workplace with plenty of natural light coming in through the tall windows and many Boston Dynamics employees scattered about, joining in on the row from the floor and other nearby spots.

Those three robots take up the majority of the screen, in low stances, arms stretching out and then pulling back in a seamless motion, similar to the iconic rowing action that Norwegians enjoy performing on the World Cup pitch to get the audience hyped up. The lead robot’s stance is excellent, and the other two smoothly copy it, creating the image of a small workforce working in perfect unison. As they move, a steady blue light illuminates their heads, and several staff members are spread across the white floor in front of the robots, participating in the action. Then there are a few sitting back near the equipment racks and carts just enjoying the show.

It’s all pretty laid-back, as this display follows Atlas stealing the show at the Norway vs. Brazil halftime show, where the robot may have even stolen the show with its awesome goal celebrations, pretending to be Erling Haaland and then handing over the match ball, and now the focus is back on Boston Dynamics HQ, where multiple Atlas units are rocking this syncopated movement with that same World Cup frenzy.
