Disney closing more attractions ahead of summer season
Tourists planning on a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth might want to double check that your favorite Disney ride is open, following several closures announced ahead of the summer months.
Pixie Hollow and “Fantasmic” have joined the already announced list of closures at the Anaheim theme park in Southern California, which includes fan-favorite “Pirates of the Caribbean” and the Blue Bayou restaurant.
The attractions will be shuttered at various times in May for what the park calls routine refurbishments at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, according to the Disneyland website.
“Pirates of the Caribbean” will close its doors on Monday May 4, with a returned date estimated to be in early June, per the Orange County Register.
The Blue Bayou restaurant — which allows diners to experience the inside atmosphere of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” will be closed from May 4-May 20, per the Undercover Tourist.
Pixie Hollow will be open in May except for closures on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month, with this lasting until June 7, 2026, the report noted.
The “Fantasmic” show will be closed throughout various week days in the month of May, returning May 22 for the summer season.
The announcement comes following other rides at the park that have been shuttered like Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Silly Symphony Swings, and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind — all that are expected to be back by early June, per the report.
Other recent closures have involved the famed Disneyland Monorail, Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes, and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, all which reopened on Friday May 1 after being closed for months.
Good news for those visiting the park this week. Several other shuttered rides such as the Sailing Ship Columbia and Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island will reopen to park guests soon. The ships set sail again on Saturday May 2, with the pirate’s lair back on Friday May 8.
Daily park closures are listed on the Disneyland website everyday.
