“American Pie” actor Jason Biggs spoke with members of the press at the 2026 City Harvest GALA, which was held on Tuesday, April 21st in New York City.

City Harvest is a nonprofit organization, as well as New York City’s first and largest food rescue organization. Jilly Stephens serves as CEO.

Biggs on being a part of the City Harvest GALA

On being a part of the City Harvest GALA, Biggs remarked, “It feels great to be here. Last year I hosted, and this year, I am just a guest, so the pressure is off. I will say that I’m happy I hosted before Bowen Yang because this will be a very tough act to follow.”

Biggs of the significance of City Harvest and the work that they do

On the importance of this event and the work that City Harvest does, Biggs stated, “I just love this organization. Unfortunately, there are way too many food-insecure families around NYC. This is a wonderful organization that helps feel a lot of hungry people; it’s wonderful.”

Perennial relevance of ‘American Pie’

Biggs is best known for his lead role as Jim Levenstein in four movies in the “American Pie” film series (from 1999 to 2012).

On the perennial relevance of “American Pie,” he expressed, ““It feels great! I think we need to do another ‘American Pie’ movie… it’s the perfect time.”

“Nostalgia is big and people seem to have continued interest in it. It’s flattering and I am grateful to be a part of something that has such legs, and such a positive impact,” he elaborated.

“It’s the gift that keeps on giving… totally,” he added.

Success

Regarding his definition of the word success, Biggs stated, “Success means health, family, support and love… that’s success to me.”

Biggs remarked about the 2026 City Harvest Gala, “It was an amazing night honoring the incredible Simon Kim, where we raised over $4.5 million to help feed New Yorkers in need. Thanks to Jilly Stephens for her continued effort and amazing leadership of this incredible organization.”

“From tonight’s event, I hope people get an awareness of the fact that there are so many food-insecure people in New York City, and the stats are staggering. Hopefully, people can give back,” he concluded.
