Fiat Topolino Micro EV US Launch
Fiat has started sales of its smallest electric vehicle in America. The Topolino arrives with a starting price of $13,995 before destination fees and targets drivers who want something far simpler than a regular car. Pricing for the Topolino begins at that figure, with a $990 destination charge bringing the total to $14,985. Limited quantities of the 2026 models sit at select dealers now, and orders have opened for those who want one.

Buyers will have the option of selecting one of two Topolino models. The base model has a panoramic glass sunroof and conventional doors. The Dolcevita version, which includes a roll-back soft top and rope-style door closures, should make you feel like you’re traveling with the wind in your hair. Both are currently available in the same refreshing mint green paint color, Verde Vita. The design is undeniably tiny, with dimensions of 99.6 inches long, 56.4 inches wide, and 61.2 inches tall – and weighing only 1,073 pounds, it obviously falls into the’micro-mobility’ camp rather than being a conventional passenger automobile.

A 5.4 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery is located beneath the floor and should provide you with approximately 46 miles of range depending on how quickly you’re going, what you’re carrying, and the weather. The top speed is a somewhat cautious 19 mph. However, a free conversion kit, which will be available by the end of the summer, will allow you to increase that to 25 mph and will even provide you with the additional parts required to properly qualify as a federal low-speed vehicle. Simply put it into a typical 120-volt household outlet to charge, and a full charge should take about five hours if you utilize the onboard 2.3 kW charger; no further equipment is required.

The conversion kit successfully converts the Topolino into a proper low-speed vehicle capable of operating on public highways with speed limits of 35 mph or less. However, it will still be prohibited on highways and other high-speed roads. Even with the package, this remains primarily a neighbourhood and resort vehicle. People who live in gated communities or places where golf carts are available but would like something more stylish and weatherproof will probably find it most appealing, as will resort properties and places where golf carts are already in use but could benefit from something with a more car-like presence.

Inside, the layout is basic and functional, with a digital cluster for monitoring speed and battery status. There are storage compartments, a phone holder, a bag hook, and enough back luggage space to accommodate all of your usual necessities. The Dolcevita variant adds flare with a unique glove box finish, as well as movable windows and LED illumination. Fiat has restored the Topolino brand as a tribute to their own past, since the original 1930s model acquired the nickname “the tiny mouse” because to its friendly, compact form, and this new electric version carries on that ethos in the micromobility space.

Stellantis sees this as their first serious entry into the US micromobility category, and while they already have the Fiat 500e electric city car, this smaller brother serves a somewhat different purpose for shorter trips and lighter demands. There is also a relationship with Motori & Customs, which allows you to acquire customizable editions and bespoke work if you want something a little more special. The 46-mile range is likely to be adequate for the majority of owners’ journeys, such as resort loops, beach errands, and community outings, but it falls short for mixed highway driving.
