Graphic footage shows driver flung from three-wheeler after smashing into Audi at intersection

This is the horrific moment an electric three-wheeler smashed into an Audi at a San Francisco intersection Wednesday, sending passengers flying.

The crash injured multiple people and wrecked both vehicles near the city’s Panhandle neighborhood, cops said.

“Motor vehicle accident with four people transported to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries at the intersection of Baker/Hayes St. Please avoid the area while SFPD does their investigation,” the San Francisco Fire Department wrote on X around noon Wednesday.

The video begins with two pedestrians walking towards the intersection before a black Audi comes into view.

The car appears to coast by before the Arcimoto FUV, a battery-operated three-wheeled ‘fun utility vehicle’ with two passengers, smashes into the side of it.

The impact sends the driver flying across the street, putting them into a roll before they come to a stop on the ground. The other passenger of the electric vehicle remained inside it.

As the passenger flew, the Audi’s airbags deployed and sent it into a spin, nearly colliding with the pedestrians.

The video ends as one of the pedestrians runs over in horror to check out the ejected passenger of the electric vehicle.

The Audi suffered heavy damage to its driver’s-side back door, while the electric vehicle received less damage from the incident.

Police taped off the scene with yellow tape, and multiple officers appeared to be on scene. It’s unclear what the passengers’ current conditions are.

The Arcimoto FUV first went on sale in 2019 and is known for being “fast, fun, and versatile beyond anything else on the market,” according to its manufacturer, Arcimoto.

The vehicles are classed as autocycles and are road legal in the state of California.
