The problem? No one\u2019s buying.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe sold one last year \u2014 we would love to sell more of our hotels. No one\u2019s buying.\u00a0 <span class=\"credit\">bydronevideos \u2013 stock.adobe.com<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Other hotel owners feel the same way, including one who asked not to be named, he said he\u2019d leave the state tomorrow if he could \u2013 but no one wants to buy hotels in the city.<\/p>\n<p>A recent City Hall push to bump the minimum wage to $30-an-hour for hotel workers was the \u201cfinal nail in the coffin\u201d for owners.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of policy gets made without them even understanding the ramifications or even really knowing the details,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ordinance, which passed in May, incrementally raises the minimum wage over the next several years until reaching $30 by 2028 for non-union hotels with 60 or more rooms.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>A recent City Hall push to bump the minimum wage to $30-an-hour for hotel workers was the \u201cfinal nail in the coffin\u201d for owners.\u00a0 <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bortz said the minimum wage hike, compounded by the hotel worker protection ordinance \u2014 which requires hotels to provide personal security \u201cpanic buttons\u201d to employees working alone, restricts daily room cleanings, and changes the overtime rules \u2014 has decimated the industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2016 we valued our portfolio \u2014 then it was nine properties \u2014 we valued it a $1.5 billion, today we would value it at $500 million,\u201d Bortz told The Post. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, we\u2019ve lost a billion dollars in ten years.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"single__inline-module inline-module inline-module--newsletter aligncenter inline-module--nypostbusinessunit aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-newsletter\" data-source-unit=\"Inline Newsletter Module Cali -
