She also wrote in the letter \u201cbring me home and then we\u2019ll get those damn b\u2014hes,\u201d in an alleged reference to Eric\u2019s two sisters.<\/p>\n<p>Kouri then claimed she wrote the letter as part of a novel she was writing from jail after she was confronted with it, prosecutors claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Kouri also tried to get Katie criminally investigated and filed a false report with child services against her sister-in-law, the filing alleged.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kouri Richins allegedly had her family make a fake gay dating profile for the lead cop in her case. <span class=\"credit\">Kouri Richins\/Facebook<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Richins also had her family make false claims about prosecutors in her case to the Utah bar. <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kouri also reported Eric\u2019s other sister, Amy Richins, for allegedly having pot, the court papers claimed.<\/p>\n<p>And she asked her family to launch criminal gun charges against Eric\u2019s dad, Gene Richins, after he removed a gun from her family home for \u201csafekeeping,\u201d prosecutors claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Before her arrest and just days after Kouri killed Eric, by lacing his Moscow Mule cocktail with fentanyl, she \u201cthroat punched\u201d Amy, the filing charged.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kouri Richins was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. <span class=\"credit\">Facebook \/ Kouri Richins<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>And Kouri also tried to falsely smear Eric\u2019s name after he died, accusing him of having an affair with a coworker and sleeping with another man, one of his best friends, the papers alleged.<\/p>\n<p>She also made \u201can unfounded criminal complaint to the FBI about Eric Richins\u2019 business partner,\u201d the filing claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendant cannot check her ambition,\u201d prosecutors wrote.  \u201cOr her sense of entitlement. When confronted, she lies. When she feels aggrieved, she attacks. And she certainly feels aggrieved; she always has.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At Kouri\u2019s Wednesday sentencing, her lawyers said she should receive the lightest sentence possible of 25 years to life in prison as they claimed prosecutors\u2019 sentencing papers were a \u201ccharacter assassination\u201d of Kouri.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Richins poisoned her husband Eric Richins. <span class=\"credit\">via REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It was also first revealed in the sentencing papers that Kouri\u2019s sons were terrified of her and didn\u2019t ever want her to get out.<\/p>\n<p>Kouri was convicted in March of putting five times the lethal dose of fentanyl into Eric\u2019s drink on March 4, 2022. She unsuccessfully tried to kill him two weeks earlier by lacing his sandwich with the same drug.<\/p>\n<p>Kouri was motivated by her misinformed belief that she would inherit Eric\u2019s $4 million estate to help her clear her real estate business debts and allow her to start a new life with her handyman lover.<\/p>\n<p>She wasn\u2019t arrested until a year later and after she wrote a children\u2019s grief book to help her sons process the loss of their dad, entitled \u201cAre You With Me?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kouri went on local TV and radio stations to promote the book just months before she was cuffed.<\/p>\n<p>She has maintained her innocence and said she plans to appeal.
