Powers, gave him an \u201cintervention\u201d during a dream.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Ex-New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said on Wednesday that he had a \u201cvery, very spiritual experience\u201d while battling a \u201cserious\u201d case of pneumonia. <span class=\"credit\">X\/Rudy W. I would equate it to a dream of my being on line headed for, I can\u2019t say headed for heaven, headed for a trial by St. Peter,\u201d Giuliani described. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a very significant intervention by my Peter, I have my own Peter\u2026 Peter J. Powers, my friend of my lifetime,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeter said some very significant words, and I made sure, as soon as I woke up, I started telling people and recorded it in part,\u201d he added, noting his son, Andrew, recorded his retelling of the dream by his bedside in Florida.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Giuliani\u2019s late lifelong friend and former top aide, Peter J. Powers, gave him an \u201cintervention\u201d and spoke to him during the dream. <span class=\"credit\">Pictures by Chris Bott for NY Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The ex-mayor added that he plans to retell the spiritual experience in more detail at a later date and spoke to a priest at the hospital following the apparition. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI dont want to embellish it, and I don\u2019t want to deny what was there,\u201d he told viewers. <\/p>\n<p>Powers befriended Giuliani in high school and became his right-hand man, serving as Giuliani\u2019s campaign manager and his first deputy mayor. I had pneumonia, I was in the hospital. I\u2019m going to tell you all about it, not all right away,\u201d Giuliani said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIm in the middle of making a very, very full and complete recovery. Today, I did physical exercise, walked up and down stairs, and walked all around. I feel 100 percent, but im probably not,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerica\u2019s Mayor\u201d also praised President Trump for being a \u201cterrific\u201d pal during the trying time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, I have to thank the president, of whom I had a very good conversation after I got into the hospital,\u201d Giuliani recalled. <\/p>\n<p>Giuliani\u2019s spokesperson, Ted Goodman, added that the president\u2019s team was \u201cconstantly\u201d in contact to check on Rudy\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was just terrific,\u201d the former mayor said of Trump. \u201cHe\u2019s just a godsend to this country.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
