Since that day, we\u2019ve had great results but also the mood. Everyone is clear, the relationship is so clean and honest.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018OK, this is going to happen, next season Marco Rose will be our manager. Everyone knows what\u2019s happening. We are in good place and can use this in a positive way.\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"594\" height=\"456\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/GettyImages-2274738822.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=594\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28342709\" alt=\"FBL-ENG-PR-SUNDERLAND-MAN UTD\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Carrick has the public backing of several United players (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>United\u2019s decision to rule out appointing Iraola surely only increases the likelihood of Carrick being given the permanent job in the summer.<\/p>\n<p>The 44-year-old has delivered the Red Devils back into the Champions League, with no other Premier League side picking up more points since his arrival.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking recently, former United captain Wayne Rooney urged the club not to delay the permanent appointment of Carrick any longer.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Manchester United\u00a0need to invest in players in the summer in order to compete in the\u00a0Premier League\u00a0next season, in the\u00a0Champions League\u00a0next season, which is where they want to be. They have to invest,\u2019 Rooney said on\u00a0Match of the Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018They have to strengthen the squad and I don\u2019t think there\u2019s any denying that. Now, if I was a player and Man United wanted to sign me, the first question I\u2019d ask, \u201cWho is the manager? Does the manager want me?\u201d So I think [they need] to have clarity on the manager.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I think for the club to announce him, I think they need to do it swiftly because they need to get players in.
