Mayor Bass had to beg an outsider for an endorsement because no one in LA wants to back her failures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bass is running against a slew of candidates for the mayoral position, including off last week in a debate, a spectacle many watchers believed Pratt won.<\/p>\n<p>Despite that \u2014 and the support Pratt has received from Johnson\u2019s ex-Lakers boss, Jeanie Buss \u2014 Johnson told his followers Bass is \u201cdoing a tremendous job\u201d and \u201chas to have a second term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I\u2019m excited to say that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Bass, who began her run as mayor of LA in 2022, thanked Johnson for the words on Sunday, writing on X that he\u2019s been a \u201cfriend for over 30 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis belief in how I\u2019m changing Los Angeles means everything to me,\u201d she added. \u201cMagic has poured his heart into this city long before anyone asked him to \u2014 through investment, through community, through showing up.
