height: 750px; background: #ccc; display: grid; place-items: center;\">\r\n  <script async type=\"application\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/a.magsrv.com\/ad-provider.js\"><\/script> \r\n <ins class=\"eas6a97888e2\" data-zoneid=\"5876678\"><\/ins> \r\n <script>(AdProvider = window.AdProvider || []).push({\"serve\": {}});<\/script>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n  \r\n  <script async type=\"application\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/a.magsrv.com\/ad-provider.js\"><\/script> \r\n <ins class=\"eas6a97888e6\" data-zoneid=\"5876682\"><\/ins> \r\n <script>(AdProvider = window.AdProvider || []).push({\"serve\": {}});<\/script>\r\n<\/div><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A billionaire AI boss sued a beloved California firefighter after claiming he damaged his $40 million Malibu beach mansion while installing a system designed to protect the home from wildfires.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Nadler, 42, the CEO of OpenEvidence \u2014 a Google-backed artificial intelligence company described as \u201cChatGPT\u201d for doctors \u2014 filed the lawsuit Tuesday morning before it was mysteriously withdrawn hours later.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit, which The Post understands will be refiled, accused firefighter Robert Milstein of smashing his \u201cheavy vehicle\u201d into the exterior wall of the sprawling oceanfront estate, which Nadler claims slashed the home\u2019s value by \u201cmillions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The architect-designed beachfront home features rare rammed-earth walls meant to resemble weathered coastal stone.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Nadler\u2019s $40 million Malibu mansion <span class=\"credit\">CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Milstein, who runs SoCal Fire Supply, had been setting up a fireproofing system at the mansion on October 9, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The veteran firefighter is part of the LA County Fire Community Brigade, which assists the LAFD during emergencies, and has spent two decades building a reputation as a firefighting hero in Santa Monica.<\/p>\n<p>He helped save the famed Calamigos Ranch during the devastating 2018 Woolsey Fire and is credited by locals with defending Big Rock during January\u2019s Palisades Fire, helping evacuate hundreds of residents while saving millions of dollars in property.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The lawsuit alleges Milstein damaged \u201cmultiple rammed earth panels, compromising the panels\u2019 exterior fa\u00e7ade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nadler claims the wall\u2019s rare composition means \u201cpartial repairs will only further the damage and create a patchwork-like blight to a wall that was intended to appear as one continuous, weathered stone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Milstein insists the billionaire is overstating the damage.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking exclusively to The Post, the firefighter said he took \u201cfull responsibility\u201d for the accident, explaining he had been rushing to move his truck after \u201ca panicked property manager\u201d warned that Nadler was approaching and needed the driveway cleared.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>AI Billionaire Daniel Nadler <span class=\"credit\">Bloomberg via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Robert \u201cBobby\u201d Milstein of So Cal Fire Supply <span class=\"credit\">Obtained by CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The alleged damage when Milstein backed his truck into the billionaires home. <span class=\"credit\">Obtained by CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Milstein said he failed to notice a cabinet door on the truck had been left open, causing it to strike the stone wall as he reversed.<\/p>\n<p>Photos taken afterward appear to show damage to two exterior panels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI took full responsibility. I try not to cause any problems for my clients,\u201d Milstein said.<\/p>\n<p>Nadler\u2019s lawsuit also includes an email in which Milstein admitted fault.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Aerial view of Daniel Nadler\u2019s mansion at 33014 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA <span class=\"credit\">CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The damage to Milstein\u2019s truck after backing into Nadler \u2018s $40 million mansion. <span class=\"credit\">Obtained by CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Nadler wants \u201cmulti millions\u201d from Milstein <span class=\"credit\">Obtained by CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m 100% at fault and take full responsibility,\u201d Milstein wrote, adding that he had been in a \u201crush\u201d and had insurance coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Milstein claims his insurer offered $158,000 to repair the damage because of the unique materials used on the home \u2014 but says Nadler demanded at least 20 additional panels be replaced at a cost exceeding $600,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe wanted me to replace panels that were previously damaged,\u201d Milstein claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Milstein says, the billionaire is threatening him with not only the full replacement cost but also the alleged diminished value of the property, which could allegedly run into the \u201cmulti-millions.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The house sold for over $27 million last year  <span class=\"credit\">CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Milstein fighting the Woosley Fire <span class=\"credit\">Obtained by CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Nadler\u2019s mansion with a pool, and other houses along the shoreline with mountains in the background. <span class=\"credit\">CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nadler purchased the Malibu estate for $27.1 million in July 2025, though the lawsuit suggests the property may now be worth as much as $40 million.<\/p>\n<p>The legal filing claims the impact \u201copened an actual gap in the building envelope, creating an immediate and ongoing risk of water intrusion, moisture penetration, mold formation, structural compromise, and accelerated coastal weathering,\u201d allegedly creating safety risks for Nadler and his family.<\/p>\n<p>Milstein, whose clients include Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, said he hired a structural engineer to inspect the damage.<\/p>\n<p>A letter from the engineering firm stated it \u201cappeared highly unlikely that there was any damage to the supporting structural wall or the foundation of the house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The beachfront mansion was previously praised by California Home and Design magazine for its \u201carchitectural distinction,\u201d particularly the rammed-earth panels that \u201cbring the variegated colors of the sand\u201d into the home\u2019s interior.<\/p>\n<p>The roughly 4,000-square-foot property features a pool, cabana and sweeping ocean views.<\/p>\n<p>According to Forbes, Nadler has an estimated net worth of $7.6 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian-born entrepreneur previously founded Kensho Technologies, which was acquired by S&amp;P Global in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2025, Nadler also paid $38.2 million cash for a furnished 6,000-square-foot triplex penthouse at the Four Seasons Residences in Surfside, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Nadler\u2019s immense wealth, Milstein said he was not intimidated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe thinks he\u2019s going to scare me.
