Other strikes have taken place\u00a0in the eastern Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n<p>Despite\u00a0the Iran war, the series of\u00a0strikes have ramped up again\u00a0in recent weeks, showing that the administration\u2019s aggressive measures to stop what it calls \u201cnarcoterrorism\u201d in the Western Hemisphere are not letting up. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">On May 4, at the direction of <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SOUTHCOM?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SOUTHCOM<\/a> commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The military has not provided evidence that any of the vessels were carrying drugs.<\/p>\n<p>The attacks began as the US built up its largest military presence in the region in generations and came months ahead of the raid in January that\u00a0captured then-Venezuelan President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>He was brought to New York to\u00a0face drug trafficking charges\u00a0and has pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest attack Monday, US Southern Command repeated previous statements by saying it had targeted the alleged drug traffickers along known smuggling routes. <\/p>\n<p>It posted a video on X showing a boat moving along the water before a massive explosion engulfs the vessel in flames.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><button class=\"button
