Landing planes typically fly over the busy turnpike at a low altitude \u2014 just feet above passing cars \u2014 before touching down.<\/p>\n<p>The New Jersey State Police said that the plane\u2019s landing tire and underside hit the pole and a tractor-trailer. The pole then fell on a Jeep traveling on the turnpike.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The tractor-trailer driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.  <\/p>\n<p>None of the 221 passengers or 10 crew members on the international flight were injured in the collision, the airline said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>No one on the plane was injured. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The entire flight crew was \u201cremoved from service\u201d pending an investigation into the incident, according to the airline.<\/p>\n<p>Wild video captured by witnesses cruising along the turnpike showed the plane gliding precariously close to the road. One light pole appeared to have snapped in half with the remaining lower portion bent towards the runway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA Spirit Airline pilot would never have this happen.
