Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research, noting \u201cvery good\u201d reviews and themes of power, image and success that \u201care more recognizable and relevant today than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Streep won a Golden Globe and received an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress in her first turn as Miranda Priestly \u2014 who is not-so-subtly based on longtime \u201cVogue\u201d chief Anna Wintour.<\/p>\n<p>Last week\u2019s box office winner \u201cMichael,\u201d the biopic about late superstar Michael Jackson, fell to second place but still took in $54 million, according to Exhibitor Relations.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Antoine Fuqua and distributed by Lionsgate, the film chronicles the legendary artist\u2019s rise from a child star to one of the world\u2019s most famous pop icons.<\/p>\n<p>In the starring role is Jaafar Jackson, the popstar\u2019s nephew.<\/p>\n<p>Following a whopping $97 million debut last weekend in North America, the movie has taken in over $423 million at the global box office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Super Mario Galaxy Movie\u201d came in third with $12.1 million, taking its cumulative domestic haul over $400 million.<\/p>\n<p>The animated sequel from Universal and Illumination Studios has earned nearly $900 million at the global box office, Exhibitor Relations reported.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth place went to Amazon MGM\u2019s hit sci-fi adventure comedy \u201cProject Hail Mary,\u201d with another $8.6 million.<\/p>\n<p>The film, starring Ryan Gosling as a teacher-turned-astronaut who must save Earth from a dimming sun, has earned over $625 million worldwide, in an extended theatrical run.<\/p>\n<p>In fifth place with $6.4 million was indie horror film \u201cHokum,\u201d a low-budget Irish production which Gross said had earned \u201cexcellent\u201d reviews from critics and audiences.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Damian McCarthy and starring Adam Scott (\u201cSeverance\u201d), the film follows an author who travels to a mysterious hotel in rural Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the top 10:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnimal Farm\u201d ($3.4 million)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLee Cronin\u2019s The Mummy\u201d ($2.23 million)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeep Water\u201d ($2.15 million)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime\u201d ($1 million)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Drama ($900,000)<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
