Photo Courtesy of ReelShort.<\/small><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian actor Nazar Grabar chatted about starring in vertical drama series and being a part of the digital age.<\/p>\n<p>Grabar is known for his acting work in \u201cLove at Dangerous Speeds,\u201d \u201cThe Fighter Who Stole My Pulse,\u201d and The Witch: Revenge,\u201d among others.<\/p>\n<p>Jimmy Dean once said: \u201cI can\u2019t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.\u201d This quote applies to actor Nazar Grabar, 33.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-daily-motivations-as-an-actor\">Daily motivations as an actor<\/h2>\n<p>On his daily motivations as an actor, he said, \u201cActing has been my dream ever since I was a child. I was chasing the stage and performing, but at the time, I had a stutter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was in eighth grade, I had a math teacher who once told me that I will never become an actor because of my stuttering. Sometimes we don\u2019t even understand how older people can have this influence on us. So, I listened to her and I quit my dream for a very long period of time,\u201d he elaborated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did, however, find a solution for myself,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI started to dance. That\u2019s how I could perform without using my words, but it still came back to me 10 years later.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Grabar Nazar - Self-introduction (English)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mDVjIwM2HU0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-vertical-drama-world\">The vertical drama world<\/h2>\n<p>On being an actor in the vertical drama world, he responded, \u201cIt\u2019s very interesting because, honestly, at first, I didn\u2019t understand what it was and how it was going to have an influence.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am still looking and chasing for a big screen movie role, one that will be played in movie theaters, not just in verticals,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-digital-age\">The digital age<\/h2>\n<p>On being an actor in the digital age, Nazar said, \u201cTo me, it feels the same. There is no difference. I\u2019ve stayed true to myself my whole life, and that\u2019s just what I do. That\u2019s my job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe digital age is both good and bad at the same time. It\u2019s a double-edged sword,\u201d he admitted. \u201cThere is too much information now, especially in the 21st century.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBack in the day, people used to put in a lot of effort and lot of work to make a movie. Making movies for me is an art,\u201d he underscored.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMovies can inspire you. They can touch your heart. They can touch your brain and your soul. They can make you feel better or worse. You can get support from their inspiration. So, for me, movies is an art and acting is an art,\u201d he elaborated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only aspect of verticals that I don\u2019t like is that they are making art as a mass market,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-future-plans\">Future plans<\/h2>\n<p>On his future plans, he shared, \u201cI would like to keep going what I\u2019m doing. Photo Courtesy of Amo Pictures.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-working-with-mary-vysnevska\">Working with Mary Vysnevska<\/h2>\n<p>Nazar had great words about working with Ukrainian actress Mary Vysnevska as his leading lady in several acting projects. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really cool working with Mary,\u201d Nazar said. \u201cMary is a very giving actress and whenever we work together, it\u2019s a very cool, symbiotic relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-nazar-on-ukrainian-actor-bohdan-ruban\">Nazar on Ukrainian actor Bohdan Ruban<\/h2>\n<p>While he has yet to work with fellow Ukrainian actor Bohdan Ruban in an acting capacity, Nazar noted that they are both friends, and that they worked as dancers ten years ago for a five year period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we have yet to work together in verticals, I would love to someday work with Bohdan because he is a great guy,\u201d Nazar said.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-stage-of-his-life\">Stage of his life<\/h2>\n<p>On the title of the current chapter of his life, he revealed, \u201cMoving Forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a really interesting chapter of my life right now,\u201d he admitted. \u201cAfter I quit from the Ukrainian army and I get back to acting, I am starting to moving forward now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was hard to live your past. I mean, it\u2019s impossible to live your past. The war will stay with me for my whole life. You just learn how to live with it. So, I think right now, I\u2019m in a very interesting stage of my life. I am wondering what is going to be next,\u201d he explained. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-career-defining-moments\">Career-defining moments<\/h2>\n<p>On his career-defining moments, Nazar remarked, \u201cAll of my life has made me into the person I am now. I learned how to appreciate people and to appreciate time. It taught me how important family is and the need to just be yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-success\">Success<\/h2>\n<p>Regarding his definition of success, Nazar responded, \u201cThat is a very interesting question. Right now, people are measuring success in money or goods that they own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, success is when you can be proud of yourself. When you can look in the mirror and honestly say to yourself, \u2018I\u2019m proud of you.\u2019 It\u2019s so hard to express that when you live your life without helping others,\u201d he elaborated.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-message-for-his-fans\">Message for his fans<\/h2>\n<p>For his fans and supporters, Nazar expressed, \u201cI just want to thank them for their support. I\u2019m reading a lot of good comments. It is very rewarding whenever I hear that I inspire them.
