And I just wasn\u2019t confident the way that I am now. So going back and seeing him, I remember being like, \u2018You guys want us to play lovers, that\u2019s hilarious,&#8217;\u201d she told The Post.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Eva Noblezada and Reeve Carney are currently starring on Broadway together in \u201cThe Great Gatsby.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Tamara Beckwith\/NY Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>And Carney, 43, didn\u2019t see a future where they\u2019d even be friends.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFunnily enough, I didn\u2019t think Eva liked me. And she didn\u2019t think that I liked her,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI was nervous,\u201d added Noblezada, 30. \u201cI thought that he was super cool and smelled good and was very nice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lovebirds, who have been in a total of five theatrical productions together, did have to kiss during \u201cHadestown\u201d\u2013 but Noblezada was months away from marrying actor Leo Roberts and Carney was dating actress Victoria Justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had partners at the time. And I think that any chemistry read, you should go in with respect for yourself and your partner and also the other person,\u201d said Noblezada, a San Diego native.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The lovebirds first met in 2017 during a reading for \u201cHadestown.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Tamara Beckwith\/NY Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn\u2019t like that at all in the beginning. We genuinely became best friends,\u201d added Carney, who was born and raised in the West Village.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was chemistry in that sense where it\u2019s like we just really get along and this is so much fun spending time together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The couple didn\u2019t see each other again until March 2018, when they were workshopping \u201cHadestown\u201d at the London Theater.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\nThey began dating in 2019 and tied the knot in New Orleans in October 2025. <span class=\"credit\">Mo Davis<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>By 2019, Noblezada was divorced and Carney had split from Justice, and they were starring together in \u201cHadestown,\u201d which had then moved to Broadway \u2014 so finally had the \u201cGreen Light\u201d to move forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce we were single, it was like best friendship turning into something romantic. What\u2019s better than that?\u201d Carney said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were like, \u2018The only reason not to do this is in case it would mess up the show.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>At their wedding, they had a string octet playing some of their favorite songs such as \u201cAll I Ask of You\u201d from \u201cThe Phantom of The Opera.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Mo Davis<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>They tied the knot in October 2025 \u2014 and \u201cGatsby\u201d marks their fifth production together, since they starred alongside one another in three different productions of \u201cHadestown\u201d and one of \u201cCabaret.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Noblezada originated the role of Daisy when the show opened at the Broadway Theatre in 2024. She departed from the role in January and then returned in March, with Carney joining the cast just a few weeks later.<\/p>\n<p>When the duo, who live in walking distance from the theater, meet fans at its stage door, they are touched to hear that some have followed their journey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I love hearing is like, \u2018Oh my gosh, we saw you guys in \u2018Hadestown\u2019 and then we saw you in \u2018Cabaret.\u2019 It\u2019s really special and pinch-me moments every night,\u201d Noblezada gushed.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The newlyweds, who live in walking distance from the Broadway Theatre, named Arriba Arriba as a favorite date spot. <span class=\"credit\">Tamara Beckwith\/NY Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>They star in eight shows a week, with a typical show day consisting of Noblezada getting to the theater first for hair and makeup prep.<\/p>\n<p>Her dressing room is on a different floor from Carney\u2019s, which works well for the couple, since they prefer not see each other until they\u2019re on stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s nice to see each other for the first time when the show starts, once we\u2019re on stage and our characters meet, which I think adds tension,\u201d Noblezada said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re here to entertain people, and people pay a lot of money to see it. So you want to make sure you\u2019re focused when you\u2019re working so that you\u2019re creating the atmosphere of fantasy for everyone,\u201d Carney added.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The duo traveled to Dublin for a few days after their nuptials, but are planning for a longer honeymoon. \u201cWe\u2019re blocking off three weeks,\u201d Noblezada said. <span class=\"credit\">Sandra Okuboyejo<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As for a pair they\u2019d like to portray on Broadway one day, they have their sights set on one from \u201cJesus Christ Superstar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJesus and Mary Magdalene,\u201d Carney said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh yeah, that would be fun,\u201d added Noblezada. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
