Copyright POOL\/AFP\/File PAUL ELLIS<\/small><\/em><\/p>\n<p>British engine-maker Rolls-Royce maintained its full-year profit guidance on Thursday, as it expects to \u201cfully mitigate\u201d disruption from the Middle East war.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rolls-Royce supplies engines to the world\u2019s biggest aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing, leaving it exposed to severe air travel disruptions in the wake of US-Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe conflict in the Middle East has created uncertainty for the industry,\u201d chief executive Tufan Erginbilgic said in a trading update ahead of the group annual general meeting on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He added, however, that \u201cwe expect to fully mitigate the current financial impact of the disruption to our business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Erginbilgic praised the \u201cstrong start to the year\u201d across its aerospace, defence and power systems divisions.<\/p>\n<p>The group maintained its 2026 targets for an underlying annual operating profit of between \u00a34 billion ($5.4 billion) and \u00a34.2 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe remain strongly positioned to deliver our mid-term targets, with substantial growth beyond the mid-term from both our existing and new businesses,\u201d Erginbilgic said.<\/p>\n<p>Rolls-Royce has undergone a major turnaround since Erginbilgic took the helm in 2023 leading to repeated upgrades to its outlook.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Net profit more than doubled last year to \u00a35.8 billion, buoyed by strong aircraft engine performance and a favourable currency effect linked to a weaker dollar.<\/p>\n<p>Rolls-Royce had benefited also from cost savings, while the group is set to profit further from government spending on defence.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
