Rosa DeLauro for being \u201cuninformed\u201d Monday after the Connecticut Democrat completely lost it and suggested he drink weed killer during a heated congressional budget hearing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>DeLauro, the purple-haired ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee, argued Zeldin\u2019s budget proposal \u201creads like a climate change denier\u2019s manifesto\u201d as she asked the EPA chief to \u201cjustify abandoning [the EPA\u2019s] duty to protect Americans\u201d from climate change.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zeldin, a former Republican New York congressman, wasn\u2019t having it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin slammed Rep. Rosa DeLauro for being \u201cuninformed\u201d on Monday after the Connecticut Democrat completely lost it and suggested he drink weed killer during a heated congressional budget hearing.\u00a0 <span class=\"credit\">Lee Zeldin\/X<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cFollowing the law,\u201d he responded. \u201cSection 202 of the Clean Air Act. Where does it say anything about fighting global climate change?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0DeLauro, 83, remained silent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cLoper Bright. Supreme Court case. Are you familiar with it?\u201d Zeldin asked.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The flustered congressman admitted she was ignorant of the case but argued Zeldin didn\u2019t have \u201cthe right to say climate change does not exist, that it\u2019s a hoax, and that\u2019s where this administration is coming from.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know you\u2019re upset. You don\u2019t know what Loper Bright is. Do you know what the major policies doctrine is?\u201d Zeldin challenged DeLauro, adding, \u201cYou\u2019re a member of Congress, you should know.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>DeLauro argued Zeldin\u2019s budget proposal \u201creads like a climate change denier\u2019s manifesto,\u201d as she asked the EPA chief to \u201cjustify abandoning [the EPA\u2019s] duty to protect Americans\u201d from climate change.\u00a0 <span class=\"credit\">Lee Zeldin\/X<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>DeLauro snapped after Zeldin rattled off a couple more major Supreme Court cases that the Democratic lawmaker appeared unaware of.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWoah. You know, you\u2019re here because you need money from us,\u201d she screamed, wagging her finger at the Trump administration official. \u201cSo halt for this second and wait for the question and answer the question!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zeldin insisted that he answered the question and accused the congresswoman of being \u201csomebody who likes the microphone on\u201d but doesn\u2019t actually read federal statutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have to listen to this BS!\u201d DeLauro raged.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBS? You think I made up these cases?\u201d Zeldin shot back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, I think you have made up a whole lot,\u201d DeLauro responded.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Zeldin speaks during an announcement on microplastics at the EPA headquarters in Washington, DC, on April 2, 2026.  <span class=\"credit\">REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Later on in the hearing, when things appeared to settle down a bit, DeLauro accused the Trump EPA of not doing enough to go after polluters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zeldin opened up his binder and started comparing the Trump administration\u2019s enforcement actions to the Biden administration\u2019s when DeLauro interjected.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGlyphosate,\u201d she said, referring to the active ingredient in the pesticide Roundup.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zeldin advised that if the congresswoman\u2019s cup was filled with glyphosate, she should not drink it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To which DeLauro responded, \u201cMaybe you should try doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing infuriates an uninformed Congressional Dem more than when they realize they voluntarily triggered a debate with someone who actually knows what they are talking about, reads federal statute and adheres to Supreme Court precedent,\u201d Zeldin wrote on X after the hearing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s self-implosion by [DeLauro] was quite remarkable to witness,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On DeLauro\u2019s suggestion he drink weed killer, Zeldin reacted: \u201cWhen you don\u2019t have anything good to say, some advise to just not say anything at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He argued DeLauro \u201capparently believes that when you don\u2019t have anything good to say, you should instruct the person you are debating to kill themself.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>DeLauro\u2019s office did not immediately respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
