Bryant \u2014 then took out a semi-automatic handgun with the drum magazine and fired a first round at Corrigan shortly before 5:45 p.m., according to the docs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a split-second pause, [Bryant] fired many more [shots], one after another, with no pause,\u201d the court records said.<\/p>\n<p>Corrigan was struck multiple times, including in the chest, abdomen and right arm, according to the docs. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Several good Samaritans stopped to provide aid, including one who kept pressure on his wounds, according to a police report.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Corrigan was fatally shot outside the front of the Strongville Costco after telling a customer he couldn\u2019t enter the store with a firearm. <span class=\"credit\">Fox8<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Cops rushed to the Costco following the gunfire and found Corrigan breathing and conscious enough to answer questions at the scene \u2014 however, \u201c[it] was apparent his alertness was beginning to decline,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<p>Despite life-saving efforts, the 61-year-old worker later died from his injuries, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>The Costco employee was remembered as an \u201camazing, funny, and generous man who completely turned his life around after some trouble in his younger days,\u201d according to an online fundraiser.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Corrigan was described as \u201cselfless and caring\u201d and was the sole caregiver for his 86-year-old mother, according to his niece, Holly Marie.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The 61-year-old was remembered as an \u201camazing, funny, and generous man who completely turned his life around after some trouble in his younger days,\u201d according to an online fundraiser.\u00a0 <span class=\"credit\">GoFundMe<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAside from taking care of [his mother], he LOVED going to work at Costco, always talking about his coworkers. He would joke, laugh, and pass around sweet treats to everyone around him, making every day brighter for those he met,\u201d she wrote on the GoFundMe page.<\/p>\n<p>When he was apprehended, Bryant told police \u201ca white man approached me with a knife for no reason\u201d and \u201cI defended myself,\u201d according to the court docs.<\/p>\n<p>Police noted that Corrigan did brandish a pocket knife after the gunman took out his weapon, prior to being fatally gunned down.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The alleged gunman, 22-year-old truck driver Christian M. Bryant, was arraigned via video call on Monday morning. <span class=\"credit\">Fox8<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During his arraignment via video call on Monday, Bryant told the court, \u201cthis man approached me with a knife,\u201d but was advised by Judge Sean Kilbane to refrain from making any further statements until he conferred with his attorney, FOX 8 reported.<\/p>\n<p>Strongville police detective Zaki Hazou told the court that Bryant is a truck driver who was passing through Ohio at the time of the shooting.
