If you have a look at the statistics, we had more expected goals, more shots, more shots on target, more big chances missed.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It could go in both directions but it\u2019s also fair to say that we were not at our free-flowing best today, especially in the first half.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s not that we were played off the park but we made one or two unnecessary mistakes in the build-up, a bit clumsy, and gave more or less the only situation where Chelsea had a chance.\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"594\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2273233107_17fed6.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=594\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28126661\" alt=\"Chelsea v Leeds United - Emirates FA Cup Semi Final\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Interim manager McFarlane will lead Chelsea into this year\u2019s final (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Farke highlighted Sanchez\u2019s assured display between the sticks for Chelsea, with the Spaniard proving a thorn in Leeds\u2019 side in the second period.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We had the first chance to score, a big chance, and it was a good save from their goalkeeper as well,\u2019 the German added.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Second half, we tried everything, we changed our base formation and brought more offensive-thinking players in. This is what we can criticise.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>According to Farke, Leeds\u2019 players had displayed signs of \u2018nervousness\u2019 across the 90 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Perhaps you could feel a bit that the lads were a bit nervous. So much was made out of this game and we were not at our very best today,\u2019 he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018But yeah, it\u2019s football. In tight games, the team defends a bit more concentrated wins the game and this was today Chelsea and for that, congratulations to them.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Asked if the occasion had perhaps affected his players, Farke replied: \u2018Yes, of course.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The players are not used to play always on a Champions League-level. So much of made of it being the first game in four decades.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Yes, of course it\u2019s difficult.
