But another former Blues star in Fabregas is also among the favourites.<\/p>\n<p>The former Arsenal captain spent five seasons at Chelsea after a spell at Barcelona and is enjoying a successful spell in Serie A with Como where he began his coaching career just three years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Como are on course to qualify for Europe in what is just their second season in the Italian top flight with the former Spain international appearing to commit his future to the project.<\/p>\n<p>Club president Mirwan Suwarso told City AM on Friday he would not stand in Fabregas\u2019 way if he wants to take the reins at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2262511941.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=646\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28088873\" alt=\"Cesc Fabregas, head coach of Como 1907, celebrates the\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>The Spaniard was linked with the Inter job<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u2018You want your employees to stay with you for as long as possible but at the end of the day we don\u2019t own him and he\u2019s free to go to Chelsea if he wishes,\u2019 Suwarso said.<\/p>\n<p>Quizzed on those comments, Fabregas said: \u2018I don\u2019t have to say anything, because I haven\u2019t heard anything from the president.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018You say that, I know nothing about it. It\u2019s a modern playing style, it\u2019s an exciting play style, which has the features that you expect from a young, emerging manager and a young, emerging team.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of courage, playing with a high line, trying to keep the ball as much as possible and really trying to have a strong identity, a strong attacking identity against any opponent.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s like a Spanish team playing in Serie A. He has a clear philosophy in mind.<\/p>\n<p><em>Lorenzo Bettoni, Italian football journalist and editor of\u00a0Football Italia\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u2018I think I\u2019ll continue as Como\u2019s coach: my experience as a player gives me peace of mind.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Fabregas won two Premier League titles with Chelsea, before leaving for Monaco in 2019.
