It marks the first time in more than 20 years that a cruise line has committed to a minimum annual guarantee at the Port of San Diego.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSan Diego has been an important part of our West Coast operations for more than a decade, and a place our guests love sailing from,\u201d said Jose Fernandez, vice president of port strategy, development and operations for Disney Cruise Line. \u201cThis new agreement supports our long-term growth and helps us continue contributing to the region\u2019s economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Today\u2019s largest ships, like the\u00a0Icon of the Seas, are roughly\u00a0five times larger\u00a0than the\u00a0Titanic. <span class=\"credit\">The San Diego Union-Tribune via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The first ship to feature a swimming pool was the\u00a0Adriatic\u00a0in\u00a01906. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The expansion is set to ramp up quickly.
