I\u2019ve stuck up for Gyokeres all season because I like his attitude and the way that he plays. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018He\u2019s still got his 18 goals. He\u2019s getting used to us, we\u2019re getting used to him, but I think what I liked about the game against Man City, not only did we press, which was aggressive, but we went long quicker. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"594\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2271559425_c944a4.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=594\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28093217\" alt=\"FBL-ENG-PR-MAN CITY-ARSENAL\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Viktor Gyokeres was benched against Manchester City (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u2018David Raya went long, quick into Havertz on the touchline, on the diagonal, where Havertz could hold it up, or he flicks it on.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And he probably just gives you that little bit more of control, where he\u2019s better at holding it up, so Gyokeres might have to wait his turn.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>On the challenge Newcastle will pose, Groves added: \u2018Newcastle will come and try and sit deep. They\u2019re in really bad form at the minute, I think they\u2019ve lost eight out of 11 in the Premier League, but historically, there\u2019s always a needle in Arsenal against Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018So they will come, they will up their game a little bit. Guimaraes will probably come back in, so he\u2019s a big plus for them, but this is all about Arsenal themselves.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018They can only control themselves and the way they approach the game and their attitude. They can\u2019t control what Newcastle do, you know, whether they press, whether they sit deep.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Graham was calm in \u201989 \u2013 Arteta must be the same\u2019<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-871821892.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=646\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28093227\" alt=\"\" world=\"\" premiere=\"\" vip=\"\" arrivals=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Perry Groves won the league title with Arsenal in 1989 (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Having been part of the Arsenal side that won the league title on the final day back in 1989, Groves knows a thing or two about handling nerves down the final stretch.<\/p>\n<p>And the 61-year-old believes a calmer approach from Arteta will free up his players to get over the line.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There\u2019s pressure, he added. \u2018It doesn\u2019t matter whether you\u2019re leading the title race or you\u2019re chasing, there\u2019s pressure. But when you\u2019re chasing, it just eases it. When it\u2019s yours to lose, there\u2019s miles more anxiety.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018George Graham, his leadership qualities were off the scale because you look at your manager and if they\u2019re calm and they\u2019re very chilled, that gives you confidence<\/p>\n<p>\u2018George Graham was unbelievably cool and he gave us the belief that we could go there and win by two goals [on final day].<\/p>\n<p>\u2018So Arteta\u2019s got to be exactly the same. He\u2019s got to be calm and have this assurance that he trusts them. He will say to them, \u2018I don\u2019t doubt your character because you wouldn\u2019t be here.
