height: 750px; background: #ccc; display: grid; place-items: center;\">\r\n  <script async type=\"application\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/a.magsrv.com\/ad-provider.js\"><\/script> \r\n <ins class=\"eas6a97888e2\" data-zoneid=\"5876678\"><\/ins> \r\n <script>(AdProvider = window.AdProvider || []).push({\"serve\": {}});<\/script>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n  \r\n  <script async type=\"application\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/a.magsrv.com\/ad-provider.js\"><\/script> \r\n <ins class=\"eas6a97888e6\" data-zoneid=\"5876682\"><\/ins> \r\n <script>(AdProvider = window.AdProvider || []).push({\"serve\": {}});<\/script>\r\n<\/div><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The man accused of killing conservative leading light Charlie Kirk was in court Friday for a marathon hearing as his lawyers argued to push his case back four months and to keep cameras out of the courtroom going forward.<\/p>\n<p>During the full-day hearing in a Provo, Utah, court, Robinson\u2019s lawyers first asked a judge to postpone a three-day preliminary hearing scheduled for next month, claiming the defense still hadn\u2019t received all the DNA evidence yet and were behind in wading through 200 terabytes of data turned over by prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is not a enough time to determine everything we are missing,\u201d argued Staci Visser, as she cited, the \u201csheer magnitude of what we are dealing with \u2014 dozens of law enforcement agencies and hundreds of reports.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Tyler Robinson\u2019s lawyer want to postpone case by four months and want to keep media cameras out of the courtroom. <span class=\"credit\">via REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Prosecutor Ryan McBride claimed both sides had all the evidence they needed for the early-stage hearing which he argued didn\u2019t need to be delayed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe shouldn\u2019t punish the state and the victims and everyone else by delaying the proceedings,\u201d McBride said.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Robinson, 23, is accused of fatally shooting the 31-year-old Turning Point USA co-founder in front of a crowd of thousands at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Prosecutors said a hearing next month should go forward as planned and that Robinson\u2019s team had all the evidence they needed to prepare for it. <span class=\"credit\">TRENT NELSON\/POOL\/EPA\/Shutterstock<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Robinson\u2019s lawyers have been fighting since the start of his case to limit the media from filming and photographing in the courtroom, claiming images of him could prejudice potential jurors and prevent him from getting a fair trial.<\/p>\n<p>The defense has accused the media of sensationalizing the case, pushing political agendas and painting Robinson as a villain.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Robinson\u2019s team planned to call two experts to testify about how the non-stop coverage of the case will prevent him from getting a fair shake at trial.<\/p>\n<p>The first witness, Dr. Brian Edelman, a California-based trial consultant, testified about how television coverage has been sensational rather than simply educating the public about the court hearings.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Robinson\u2019s attorney Michael Burt has been questioning defense experts about how publicity in the case will prejudice Tyler Robinson. <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThis case is capturing this community\u2019s attention,\u201d Edelman said, citing the results of a survey he conducted. \u201cDespite the size of this county, there is a 99% recognition rate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Edelman said in the large county of Utah, residents had a 99% recognition rate of Robinson which was extraordinarily high in his experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are following somewhat or very close already and nothing has really happened yet. We haven\u2019t had the preliminary hearing. We haven\u2019t had the big things happen,\u201d Edelman said.<\/p>\n<p>Kirk\u2019s widow Erika, who is a victim representative in the case, has pushed for maximum press access \u2013 as have lawyers representing the media.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Robinson is accused of killing Charlie Kirk in September during an event at Utah Valley University. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/mrserikakirk<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Press attorneys have claimed the more access the public has, the easier it is to debunk conspiracy theories that have swirled around the case.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Tony Graf said he would set a hearing where he would read his decisions on whether to postpone trial and whether to continue to allow the press to livestream the hearings.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson\u2019s team recently lost a bid to boot the Utah County Attorney\u2019s Office from prosecuting him because the daughter of one of the prosecutors was just 80 feet from Kirk when he was shot.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Graf, however, said he wasn\u2019t persuaded the prosecutor\u2019s office was swayed in any of its prosecutorial choices simply because the daughter was at the public assassination.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson\u2019s team has also been fighting to prevent prosecutors from conducting any more testing of the ballistic evidence in the case following an initial report\u2019s findings.<\/p>\n<p>That report by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) found the bullet jacket fragment taken from Kirk\u2019s body during an autopsy was too damaged to be able to say for sure one way or the other whether it was fired from the rifle found at the scene of the crime.<\/p>\n<p>The same report found a spent .30-06 shell casing was fired from the gun.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson, who is being held behind bars, could face the death penalty if he\u2019s convicted on the charge of aggravated murder.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
