Mike &amp; Sulley to the Rescue ride isn\u2019t expected to close until 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The permits, first flagged by Theme Park IQ, cover the Monsters Inc. building and the Hollywood Lounge quick-service location, according to the Orange County Register.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The permits were quietly filed with the city of Anaheim \u2014 the plans are for new construction of an Avatar-land at Disney\u2019s California Adventure theme park. <span class=\"credit\">MediaNews Group via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Disney officials confirmed the filings support long-term expansion work in the Hollywood Land area, but emphasized the permits are part of early planning.<\/p>\n<p>Theme Park IQ, which offers real-time updates and schedules for Disney and Universal parks, noted that the permits are in their early stages \u201cso don\u2019t expect anything to happen for awhile.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\" module module--precede-with-border module--follow-with-border wp-block-nypost-editor-protected-embed\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Disneyland has filed 9 confidential plan check demolition building permits this afternoon.
