When you walk down those stairs as defending champion, it\u2019s a massive thing. Get through the first two, all of a sudden you\u2019re in the quarter-final.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I think he can. I think it\u2019s on another level, to even the likes of Judd [Trump] and Selby,\u2019 said the seven-time world champion. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018I mean, they\u2019re obviously heavy scorers, these top players, but he\u2019s winning almost one in every two frames in one visit. It\u2019s just frightening scoring and I just think it\u2019s not going to drop.\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/GettyImages-1456623454.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=646\" class=\"article-image wp-image-26688906\" alt=\"Cazoo Masters - Day Eight\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Stephen Hendry has been blown away by Zhao\u2019s break-building (Picture: Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hendry feels there is a lack of iron-willed competitive spirit about Zhao, compared to greats of the sport, but even this could work in the world champion\u2019s favour.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I think the way he plays, the attitude he has \u2013 maybe he\u2019s not the competitor that the likes of O\u2019Sullivan or Higgins are, in terms of being scraped off the table if he\u2019s not playing well \u2013 but just the form he\u2019s on, I think he\u2019s awesome,\u2019 said the 57-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I just think he doesn\u2019t look like he hurts from a loss as much as I did, or Higgins, or O\u2019Sullivan. Because when I lost, it was be-all and end-all. It felt like the end of the world when I lost in the UK or the World, these big ones. But it doesn\u2019t seem to be like that for Zhao Xintong.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I think you either have that or you don\u2019t, that\u2019s what I mean. He\u2019s maybe not the sort of hardened competitor that the big legends of the game down the years have been.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I don\u2019t think it really bothers him.
