American mom Lynette Hooker is in an \u201cextremely fragile state\u201d while holed up in Bahamian custody, according to his lawyer, as cops must decide by Monday night whether to press charges.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Hooker, 59, has been detained ever since being arrested last Wednesday \u2013 three days after claiming his wife of almost 25 years fell overboard from their dinghy and was swept away by strong currents.<\/p>\n<p>During a three-hour interrogation at a Grand Bahama police station, Brian was quizzed about his relationship with Lynette, 55, and probed \u201cin relation to causing harm which resulted in her death,\u201d his lawyer Terrel Butler told NBC News.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Brian Hooker<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Butler said Brian Hooker, who is being treated as a suspect, was \u201cpretty upset, emotional\u201d and broke down during the interview, which left him \u201cin an extremely fragile state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The husband kept reiterating to cops, \u201cI need to know what\u2019s happening,\u201d according to Butler.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cHe was uncertain as to why they were questioning him about causing harm or possible murder when they had not given him any information where she is, if they had recovered her,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Cops didn\u2019t quiz Brian about laptops or cell phones found on the yacht, \u201cSoulmate,\u201d he shared with Lynette, Butler told CNN.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Bahamian authorities must decide by 7:20 p.m. local time whether to issue charges.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cops filed an extension Friday that kept him in custody over the weekend, but cannot apply for any further extensions unless he\u2019s charged.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image \u201cheartbroken\u201d his \u201cbeloved\u201d wife had gone missing, saying the \u201cwinds and currents drove us apart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They left Hope Town on April 4 with the aim of reaching Elbow Cay where their yacht was docked 4.5 miles away.<\/p>\n<p>Brian didn\u2019t report his missing wife to the authorities until reaching a Marsh Harbour marina on Easter Sunday, but Dimitry Malinsky, the founder and CEO of telecoms company Intratem, speculated he might\u2019ve had some sort of reception while trying to make the crossing \u2013 but said it was dependent on location.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Authorities continue to search between Marsh Harbour and Elbow Cay. <span class=\"credit\">Royal Bahama Defense there are no cell tower,\u201d he told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n<p>Brian\u2019s lawyer said she doesn\u2019t know if he had a cell phone on him at the time of Lynette\u2019s apparent overboard.<\/p>\n<p>But, Lynette\u2019s daughter, Karli Aylesworth, 28, said her mom and stepfather often carried their devices while at sea.<\/p>\n<p>Bahamian authorities are still continuing to search for Lynette, but the US Coast Guard is no longer assisting with the operation. <\/p>\n<p>The Coast Guard launched a criminal investigation last week.<\/p>\n<p>Aylesworth fears something sinister may have happened at sea, alluding to her stepfather\u2019s alleged violent streak \u2013 accusations he strongly denies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jordan Plentz, a neighbor of the Hookers, claimed they\u2019d witnessed years of \u201cpretty bad\u201d domestic violence \u2013 alleging: \u201cThey fought for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--
