Qasem Soleimani.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Hashemi\u2019s disappearance sent his family into a panic.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Eissa Hashemi after a workout at his luxe Californian home before ICE arrest. <span class=\"credit\">CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The family were arrested just days after The Post identified them living in luxury in Agoura Hills apartment \u201dThe Avalon\u201d on Monday. <\/p>\n<p>Hashemi, an adjunct associate professor teaching at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, had refused to denounce his notorious mother when approached after a gym workout.   <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>He had graduated from the University of Tehran in 2006 before moving to the US in 2010 to finish his PH.D in organizational leadership from The Chicago School.<\/p>\n<p>Neighbors Saturday said they had no idea of the family\u2019s connection to the Iranian regime, and didn\u2019t even know what country they were from. <\/p>\n<p>\u201dThey were panicking because they thought he\u2019d been kidnapped,\u201d Neighbor Natalie told The Post about the aftermath of his arrest on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>Hashemi had left his keys but still had his phone, allowing his family to track him, neighbors said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey said our father disappeared and that somebody basically came and picked him\u00a0up grabbed him\u201d <\/p>\n<p>ICE later picked up Hashemi\u2019s wife and son, although the details are unclear.<\/p>\n<p>Hashemi\u2019s mother, Ebtekar, \u201ccrafted propaganda falsely showing the humane treatment of the hostages, arranging staged interviews in which the American hostages were pressured to describe their treatment in positive terms \u2013 even as they were being held in solitary confinement, blindfolded and starved, and subjected to physical and psychological terror, including beatings and mock executions,\u201d according to the State Department.<\/p>\n<p>The State Department said the family\u2019s right to live in the country was revoked in a bid to \u201cnever allow America to become a home for foreign nationals tied to anti-American terrorist regimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The decision to cancel the visa follows a long-running campaign by anti-Iranian activists. <\/p>\n<p>In January, protestors gathered at the $20,000 a year Chicago School in Claremont, and other teaching institutions in the area with links to Hashemi, for rallies calling for him to be deported.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The Agoura Hills, CA, townhome where Eissa Hashemi lived. <span class=\"credit\">CA Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Organizers of Change.org petitions want Hashemi to be kicked out of the country.<\/p>\n<p>One wrote: \u201cWhile the mother has no regret of occupying the US embassy in Tehran, many Iranians have been affected by this action while her own son has taken advantage of living in the US.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want Issa Hashemi and his wife, Maryam Tahmasebi to be fired from the US as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A poster on Instagram said: \u201cMr. Hashemi has never publicly distanced himself from his mother\u2019s actions or legacy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe Eissa Hashemi\u2019s affiliations could undermine the safety, trust, integrity, values, or commitment to human rights at an American college, warranting further examination.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>In reality, ICE had apprehended the man. Hashemi is the son of Masoumeh Ebtekar, known as \u201cScreaming Mary\u201d who performed a role as the twisted propaganda mouthpiece for terrorists who stormed the US Embassy in Tehran in 1979.\u00a0 <span class=\"credit\">Eissa Hashemi<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, 47, the niece of Soleimani, is being held in an ICE detention center in Texas following her arrest at her Tujunga home home April 3. <\/p>\n<p>Soleimani\u2019s grandnice, Sarinasadat Hosseiny, 25, had been flaunting her luxe LA lifestyle and glam outfits on her social media accounts.<\/p>\n<p>The US government also ended the legal status of Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani, daughter of top Iranian security official Ali Larijani, who was killed in a US-Israel attack last month.<\/p>\n<p>She worked as an assistant professor at Emory University\u2019s prestigious Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
