I will defend myself with the facts and where necessary bring legal action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy focus in the coming days is to be with my wife and children and defend our decades of service against these lies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former staffer described harrowing details on the night she was allegedly raped, telling CNN of the 2024 incident: \u201cI was pushing him off of me, saying no. He didn\u2019t stop.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Swalwell with his wife, Brittany Watts.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>She claimed the episode forced her to obtain tests for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, and said she had sent texts to her friend about the alleged attack.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate account published by the San Francisco Chronicle a staffer also gave a vivid account. It is not clear if it is the same woman.<\/p>\n<p>She claimed she woke up next to him feeling disorientated with vaginal bleeding and bruising.<\/p>\n<p>The woman claimed she began working for his 2019 presidential campaign after graduating from college. They met for dinner and drinks at a steakhouse in what she initially thought was a professional conversation. <\/p>\n<p>They reportedly continued the evening at a bar, when Swalwell allegedly began making more aggressive physical contact with her \u2014\u00a0including kissing her in the middle of the bar as she began to feel \u201cfuzzy,\u201d CNN reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was sitting against me, and so I kind of moved away from him, and every time that I would move away from him, he would get closer to me,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Swalwell was once crowned the \u201cSnapchat King of Congress\u201d as a 38-year-old.  <span class=\"credit\">Samuel Corum \/ Pool via CNP \/ SplashNews.com<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The woman claimed she ended up in Swalwell\u2019s hotel with little memory of what occurred, leaving at 5:41 a.m. and later sending him a long text message reading: \u201cAll you did was harm me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI won\u2019t bother you again!\u201d Swalwell allegedly responded. \u201cSorry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other women alleged Swalwell began reaching out to them online, sometimes through disappearing message app Snapchat, where the congressman allegedly sent photos of his genitals, once allegedly pleasuring himself on an airplane in a video sent to the former staffer.<\/p>\n<p>Swalwell was crowned the \u201cSnapchat king of Congress\u201d in 2016 over his enthusiasm for the app, which was then popular among teens and young millennials. <\/p>\n<p>Social media creator Sammarco claimed she messaged Swalwell on Twitter in 2021 asking about his history growing up in a Republican family.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Dem activist Cheyenne Hunt circulated reports of Swalwell\u2019s alleged conduct.  <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/@cheyenne.l.hunt<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She claimed he began sending her provocative late-night messages, referring to her as a \u201cbad angel,\u201d and eventually switched their communications to Snapchat where he allegedly shared photos of his penis.<\/p>\n<p>He allegedly \u201cran by her apartment building several times,\u201d giving her hugs but not coming inside.<\/p>\n<p>Another woman, who said she works in marketing, claimed Swalwell sent her unsolicited videos of his penis and drooled over bikini pictures she shared on Instagram, writing: \u201cThat swimsuit. F***.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The reports are the culmination of days of rumors about Swalwell\u2019s behavior with women.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple people quit Swalwell\u2019s staff on Friday and powerful allies, including Sen. Adam Schiff and the SEIU, pulled their support of his campaign.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Swalwell\u2019s fundraising and endorsement pages were yanked late as backlash grew \u2014 including a call for an investigation by powerful former House Speaker Pelosi, who also demanded he pull out. <span class=\"credit\">John Salangsang\/Shutterstock for The Sierra Club<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Swalwell\u2019s fundraising and endorsement pages were yanked late as backlash grew \u2014 including a call for an investigation by powerful former House Speaker Pelosi, who also demanded he pull out.<\/p>\n<p>The embattled congressman\u2019s lawyers got out ahead of the claims breaking, revealing they had sent cease and desist letters to two of the women.<\/p>\n<p>The letter from attorney Elias Dabaie said: \u201cIt has come to our attention that you made false statements accusing Mr. Swalwell of sexual assault and nonconsensual sexual encounters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Swalwell takes these allegations seriously, both because they are false and because they are being injected into the gubernatorial race only 24 days before voters go to the polls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter raised the possibility of a defamation lawsuit, writing that the recipients, who have not been identified, are \u201csubject to liability for defamation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Swalwell has been approached for further comment.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async defer src=\"https:\/\/platform.instagram.com\/en_US\/embeds.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
