The article quotes several people casting doubts on his LA residency and builds a case towards his connection to his temporary home in Santa Barbara County.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The Times published a piece that said: \u201cSpencer Pratt\u2019s move to Santa Barbara County after his Palisades house burned raises eligibility questions in L.A. mayor\u2019s race.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">APEX\/MEGA<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Pratt\u2019s home burned to the ground during the Palisades fire last year. <span class=\"credit\">Berkshire Hathaway<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Writers Noah Goldberg\u00a0and\u00a0Richard Winton even interviewed the manager of a local Santa Barbara Mexican restaurant, who said they see Pratt often. Another person quoted said Pratt\u2019s temporary Santa Barbara residency \u201cbrings up the question\u201d as to whether he can satisfy the residency requirement, but the person, a professor of law, doesn\u2019t substantiate their claim further.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The 2025 LA wildfires burned down Pratt\u2019s home along with many others in The Palisades, forcing him to relocate to his parents\u2019 house in Santa Barbara County. Soon-Shiong has since the called the endorsement a \u201cmistake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pratt is a LA City Clerk certified candidate for mayor along with Bass and socialist councilmember Nithya Raman.
