While he was being booked into the jail, deputies were taking inventory of Acuna\u2019s belongings, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile manipulating US Currency taken from\u00a0the subject, she unfolded a bill which contained a powdery substance,\u201d said Columbia County Sheriff Roger Brandner. \u201cThe powdery substance became airborne directly into the face of the deputy causing an exposure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The deputy suffered a \u201cmedical event\u201d and needed immediate care, authorities said. Other deputies administered Narcan, an over-the-counter nasal spray or injection that rapidly reverses opioid overdoses, on the sick deputy.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter the sheriff\u2019s office said. Last week, Acuna was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of\u00a0narcotic drugs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He was ordered held on a $1,000 cash bond. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer request with the sheriff\u2019s office, and he was taken into federal custody.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter
