height: 750px; background: #ccc; display: grid; place-items: center;\">\r\n  <script async type=\"application\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/a.magsrv.com\/ad-provider.js\"><\/script> \r\n <ins class=\"eas6a97888e2\" data-zoneid=\"5876678\"><\/ins> \r\n <script>(AdProvider = window.AdProvider || []).push({\"serve\": {}});<\/script>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n  \r\n  <script async type=\"application\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/a.magsrv.com\/ad-provider.js\"><\/script> \r\n <ins class=\"eas6a97888e6\" data-zoneid=\"5876682\"><\/ins> \r\n <script>(AdProvider = window.AdProvider || []).push({\"serve\": {}});<\/script>\r\n<\/div><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Deep in the heart of Texas sits a tiny town ridiculously named Bug Tussle \u2014\u00a0and passing motorists can\u2019t help stealing the town sign for kicks.<\/p>\n<p>Out-of-town thieves have swiped the road marker that greets visitors at least 70 times \u2014 according to the Texas State Historical Association and local lore.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Folks in Bug Tussle, Texas, say they\u2019ve had their sign stolen more than 70 times by passing motorists, so they built a huge, heavy wooden one that, so far, no one\u2019s managed to make off with. <span class=\"credit\">Deborah Stout<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>To fight back against the sign stealers, residents \u2014 all 15 of \u2019em \u2014 decided to solve the matter themselves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe built a big, heavy wooden one that\u2019s four-foot high and five-foot wide that no one can steal,\u201d local Deborah Stout, 72, told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the sign-robbers, the town\u2019s comical name has attracted others.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Back in the day, it was fashionable for folks to get hitched in the unincorporated area that sits 80 miles northeast of Dallas \u2014 just to say they were wed in \u201cBug Tussle,\u201d according to the historical association.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Deborah and Don Stout live in Bug Tussle and say it\u2019s a little slice of heaven.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cPeople ask me all the time when I\u2019m on a plane: \u2018Are you from Dallas?\u2019 I say, \u2018No, I\u2019m from Bug Tussle,&#8217;\u201d she said. \u201cThat makes them laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deborah, and her husband, Don, an 81-year-old Vietnam vet, retired and bought a 15-acre plot in the itty-bitty burg off Highway 34 that consists of a few homes and some crumbling buildings, including an old General Store.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The old General Store in Bug Tussle is now a relic. <span class=\"credit\">Deborah Stout<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe know everybody here, but it\u2019s real quiet because there\u2019s so much land between us,\u201d she said. \u201cThe supermarket isn\u2019t far, about a 45-minute drive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Locals said they\u2019re proud of the town\u2019s unusual name, which happened at some point after it was founded and dubbed \u201cTruss\u201d in the 1890s, according to the historical society.<\/p>\n<p>The most popular local legend is that a church ice cream social was ruined by an invasion of insects \u2014 and picnickers were forced to \u201ctussle\u201d with the bugs.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Locals in Bug Tussle are happy with their town\u2019s handle, and they proudly wave the Lone Star Flag. <span class=\"credit\">Deborah Stout<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Don offered another explanation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA gentleman was traveling through, a salesman. He said, \u2018Well, what do y\u2019all do when nothing\u2019s going on?\u2019 One man said, \u2018When we\u2019re not doing anything else, we watch the bugs tussle.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deborah, a retired real-estate professional, said the place is small, the name is funny, and the local history a bit spotty, but she wouldn\u2019t live anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a little slice of heaven,\u201d she said \u2014 silly name, stolen signs and all.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
