Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) said the American people would be \u201cup at night worrying\u201d if they knew what he\u2019s been briefed on about extraterrestrial life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been briefed by just about every alphabet agency there is. And, I\u2019ll just say this, if they were to release the things that I\u2019ve seen, you\u2019d be up at night, worrying about, thinking about this stuff,\u201d Burchett told Newsmax host Rob Finnerty on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Burchett \u2014 a member of the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets \u2014 recalled that he was briefed two weeks ago \u201con an issue\u201d about extraterrestrial life that \u201cwould have set the Earth\u201d on fire and \u201cunglued\u201d the country if released.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Rep. Matt Gaetz alleging knowledge of alien-human hybrid breeding programs, Burchett stopped short of directly addressing the explosive claims.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m still a member of Congress, so I can\u2019t really comment too much on what Matt said,\u201d Burchett told Finnerty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWait, seriously?\u201d Finnerty slightly pushed back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m being 100% serious,\u201d Burchett replied.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>A video screenshot shows an unexplained aerial object observed by US military personnel. <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Burchett said that he has advocated for \u201cfull disclosure\u201d despite the potential impact the truth could have on the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public has a right to know, dadgummit, it\u2019s your tax dollars. Let\u2019s get it out there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Burchett also said that the people handling these sensitive matters are at the heart of the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I\u2019m in a meeting, in a closed-door meeting, and I ask about the president\u2019s points on these. And then I\u2019m told by some arrogant, unelected bureaucrat that the president is on a need-to-know basis. These folks have disappeared or died mysteriously,\u201d he said. \u201cI think overall, I think there is a connection there. People just do not disappear \u2026 not in this day and age.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the record, I\u2019m not suicidal, and I don\u2019t take risks,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Burchett\u2019s remarks follow President Trump\u2019s vow in February to direct the Pentagon and other agencies to release files on UFOs and \u201calien and extraterrestrial life\u201d to the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on the tremendous interest shown,\u201d the president wrote, \u201cI will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since the president\u2019s statement, the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has registered the domains aliens.gov and alien.gov, according to People.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
