Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Ex-Man Utd and England captain Wayne Rooney (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Saka, who turns 25 in September, has already played over 300 games for the Gunners and a further 48 for England, featuring for the Three Lions at three major tournaments. <\/p>\n<p>Asked about Saka\u2019s form for club and country, ex-Manchester United and England captain Rooney said on his BBC podcast: \u2018Do you know what?<\/p>\n<p>\u2018You need to look at the pressure on Bukayo Saka, especially as\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0been captain for a lot of the season with Martin Odegaard being injured.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"594\" height=\"430\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2267726011.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=594\" class=\"article-image wp-image-27801793\" alt=\"Arsenal Training Session\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Saka has only scored twice since early December (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u2018That pressure to win trophies, given where Arsenal have been, that can tally up and make it difficult for you.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He has struggled this season but\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0a fantastic player and\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0been brilliant.\u00a0He\u2019s\u00a0played a lot of games as well in his career.\u00a0I think we all\u00a0know\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0more there.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Saka was due to feature in England\u2019s friendly against Japan on Tuesday night but left the squad and returned to Arsenal for \u2018medical assessment\u2019 along with teammate Declan Rice.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\"\/>\n<p>It remains to be seen whether Saka remains England\u2019s first-choice in the right-wing position under Thomas Tuchel at this summer\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith admits Saka has not been at his best but believes he is still in the \u2018box seat\u2019 to start for England.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s not been the best, has it, for him? He\u2019s set such high standards,\u2019 Smith told BestBettingSites.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018But he\u2019s always done well for England. He knows what it\u2019s about. He\u2019s got great tournament experience and he\u2019s done well in tournaments.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018So it would take a lot I think for Tuchel to drop him. Plus the fact he hasn\u2019t really got anybody you\u2019d say, oh no, he should be in ahead of him.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Jarrod Bowen plays on the right. Noni Madueke, his clubmate.
