Saturday, closing the book on one of Los Angeles\u2019s most legendary eateries.<\/p>\n<p>The self\u2011proclaimed birthplace of the French dip sandwich is now officially a chapter in history.<\/p>\n<p>The first diners for the epic farewell event arrived early and by midmorning the line wrapped around the block, a testament to the restaurant\u2019s enduring place in the city\u2019s \u201cFarewell Weekend\u201d Saturday and Sunday, raising funds for the Independent Hospitality Coalition.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the doors closing on Sunday night, there\u2019s still a small chance Cole\u2019s may rise again.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple buyers have expressed interest in purchasing and potentially reopening the landmark.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async defer
