Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) violated federal election and House ethics rules by misusing nearly $19,000 in\u00a0campaign cash\u00a0last year on a shrink who specializes in controversial ketamine therapy, a bombshell new complaint claims.<\/p>\n<p>DC-based National Legal and Policy Center filed a joint complaint Friday with the Federal Elections Commission and the Office of Congressional Conduct, demanding both enforcement agencies probe Ocasio-Cortez, her congressional campaign committee and its treasurer, Frank Llewellyn.<\/p>\n<p>The government watchdog group want authorities to determine whether the money paid to Boston-based Dr. Brian Boyle was fraudulently documented in official filings as \u201cleadership training and consulting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The complaint was filed in to pay for a psychiatrist who has no experience in \u2018leadership training\u2019 was not for a \u2018bona fide campaign or political purpose,\u2019 but rather for personal psychiatric therapy for AOC or her campaign staff,\u201d the group\u2019s counsel Paul Kamenar, wrote in the complaint.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Using congressional campaign funds for personal use is prohibited by law, and violators face fines and up to five years in prison. They could also be forced to reimburse their campaign fund out of pocket for any misspent money.<\/p>\n<p>The NLPC requested the commission \u201cimpose appropriate penalties and disciplinary sanctions against AOC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The group also asked the Office of Congressional Conduct, or OCC, to refer the matter to the House Ethics Committee, which unlike the OCC, can issue subpoenas to witnesses and impose disciplinary action against the socialist lawmaker.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p><strong>Follow The Post\u2019s live coverage of President Trump and national politics for the latest news and analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p>AOC has previously talked about her own mental health, claiming she was in therapy following the\u00a0Jan. 6 Capitol riots, when she said lawmakers effectively \u201cserved in war.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boyle \u2014 the chief psychiatric officer at Stella, a chain of mental health clinics focusing on \u201cnovel\u201d therapies popular with Hollywood\u00a0and Wall Street \u2013 received four payments from the socialist pol\u2019s campaign last year totaling $18,725.<\/p>\n<p>The expenses were marked as \u201cleadership training and consulting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, it\u2019s unclear what the sessions consisted of or who participated. funds for a shrink appears to violate both the FEC and House Ethics rules prohibiting use of such funds for personal purposes,\u201d\u00a0 Kamenar told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile AOC has been in therapy in the past, she should spend her own money if she needs psychiatric treatment from Dr. Brian Boyle, whose specialty includes narcissistic personality disorder.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boyle, a Harvard-trained doctor, calls himself an \u201cinterventional psychiatrist\u201d and specializes in unorthodox methods for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD and anxiety.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s also considered a\u00a0\u201cleading authority\u201d\u00a0on ketamine, the controversial horse tranquilizer given to \u201cFriends\u201d star\u00a0Matthew Perry in the month leading up to his tragic death.<\/p>\n<p>Boyle\u2019s clinic also offers other treatments popular with the 1 Percent, like stellate ganglion block, an anesthetic injected into a nerve cluster in the neck to calm the body\u2019s fight-or-flight response.\u00a0Billionaires like Bob Parsons, who\u2019s battled PTSD since returning from the Vietnam War, have raved about the treatment.<\/p>\n<p>AOC herself is no stranger to touting the benefits of drugs for therapy.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cSquad\u201d rep, who campaigned to end the federal prohibition of marijuana in 2018, has\u00a0three times proposed legislation\u00a0to make it easier to study magic mushrooms and other psychedelics.<\/p>\n<p>As a freshman congresswoman in 2019, she introduced an amendment to allow the feds to spend taxpayer money
