You see it in the stock market. You see it in the bond market\u2026 So it is here, and it\u2019s just the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But some top officials gathered in Bangkok this week cautioned against relying too heavily on AI investment.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh called AI the \u201cmost consequential change\u201d to the global economy in his lifetime, and said it had \u201ca huge benefit\u201d. Still, he warned the road ahead would be \u201cbumpy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe path from where we are to there is likely to be a very bumpy one, bumpy in our understanding of the technology, bumpy because we really don\u2019t know what the market structure is going to be of these new technologies,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva similarly noted the AI boom\u2019s boost to global growth, but she told AFP that any slowdown in the industry \u201cwould be felt across the world\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there is loss of confidence and money runs away from AI, that can lead to financial stability risks,\u201d Georgieva said.<\/p>\n<p>An IMF report released this week projected that a decline in AI investment could reduce global GDP by 0.4 percent by 2028.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWeaker or less durable AI investments and profitability could be a shock that triggers a market correction,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 War and regulation \u2013<\/p>\n<p>While AI investment and trade have softened the global economic impact of the Middle East war, economists at Moody\u2019s Analytics have warned that if the conflict drags on it could \u201cpuncture\u201d the boom.<\/p>\n<p>They said higher energy prices and tighter financial conditions could push up operating costs and interest rates, adding to doubts over \u201cthe long-term profitability and viability of AI business models\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA drawn-out conflict would put serious strain on the economics behind AI investment,\u201d the group said.<\/p>\n<p>The uncertainty around regulation has also clouded the technology\u2019s outlook.<\/p>\n<p>Leaders like US President Donald Trump have urged more limited government regulation, even as some in the industry have called for legislation to mitigate risks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Georgieva, the IMF chief, appeared on Friday to link such regulation to future investment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there are no safeguards, then the risks may exceed the opportunities,\u201d she said in Bangkok.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
