Dutch studio Niels van Roij Design spent about 15,000 hours on the car, a one-off coachbuilt body on a 2009 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, chassis ZFFFD60B000160781, with 43,802 km recorded at cataloguing. Its public debut came July 8 on the lawn at the Royal Automobile Club, Woodcote Park, while the mechanical parts stayed as Ferrari delivered them.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-260586\"\/><br \/><iframe title=\"World&amp;apos;s Most Practical Ferrari? 1-of-1 Coachbuilt 599 Shooting Brake\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ir--I1EvN7M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>Luigi Chinetti Jr., son of the importer behind NART, ordered the shape this car answers in 1972. The new Daytona, chassis 15275, left Chinetti-Garthwaite Motors in Pennsylvania with a stretched top, a fixed back window, and side glass that lifted, allowing you to load the boot from the curb. Some folks estimated that it cost them around four times the price of a normal Daytona. The roof rises slightly over the driver before curving round in a wonderful smooth line to a fairly cleanly cut Kamm tail, with no rear bumper to break up the flow and no ugly extra lines on the back. The B-pillars have a new angle now. The large side windows may be opened with a remote control, on hinges cut out of aluminum with well drilled faces, because the loading concept is the same as the original glass, but the hinges are now exposed. The back glass remains fastened in situ. The headlights are true long units made of 3D-printed carbon, with a wonderful slender amber band running across them, reminiscent of the original car\u2019s solid amber lenses. A carbon diffuser houses four exhaust outlets, two pairs of which are arranged in a double-barrel pattern. The interior is finished in gorgeous cognac leather, from the seats to the dash, doors, headlining, and luggage bay, all neatly stretched over hand-formed aluminum contours. The second surface is made of carbon fiber, as opposed to wood on the 1972 automobile. The load area features six brushed aluminum runners running along the carbon floor, each engraved with the project name and studio roundel, which is quite the detail. For good measure, the packet also includes canceled German registration papers from the 2009 automobile. According to some estimates, this car is worth nearly four times what you\u2019d pay for a standard 599, which appears to be comparable to what the Pennsylvania car cost relative to a Daytona in 1972, and that\u2019s the whole story: just one body, one chassis, and a boot door that opens sideways: that\u2019s the production run.
