The Federal Aviation Administration, not the White House, is the US agency that certifies or decertifies aircraft in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Bombardier models remain US certified and the company is currently exempt from US tariffs. It did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Trump\u2019s post.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, as trade negotiations collapsed, Trump slapped 50-percent tariffs on some $20 billion worth of Canadian products ranging from hockey sticks to cement.<\/p>\n<p>Canada announced it is imposing retaliatory tariffs on a similar amount of US products beginning early Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The duties of 15 percent, 25 percent and 50 percent will apply to imports from the United States covering steel and aluminum products as well as dairy goods like cheese.<\/p>\n<p>Negotiations between the two sides broke down late last month after days of meetings in Washington, with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney saying he decided to suspend the trade talks.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Carney said the Trump administration\u2019s terms were ultimately unacceptable, and that US negotiators had introduced restrictions on Canadian trade deals with other countries at the eleventh hour.<\/p>\n<p>US officials also made unacceptable \u201cthreats\u201d to the French language and \u201cQuebec culture,\u201d he added, referencing the French-speaking province in eastern Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Ottawa and Washington have not resumed negotiations since, and have continued trading barbs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
