height: 750px; background: #ccc; display: grid; place-items: center;\">\r\n  <script async type=\"application\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/a.magsrv.com\/ad-provider.js\"><\/script> \r\n <ins class=\"eas6a97888e2\" data-zoneid=\"5876678\"><\/ins> \r\n <script>(AdProvider = window.AdProvider || []).push({\"serve\": {}});<\/script>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n  \r\n  <script async type=\"application\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/a.magsrv.com\/ad-provider.js\"><\/script> \r\n <ins class=\"eas6a97888e6\" data-zoneid=\"5876682\"><\/ins> \r\n <script>(AdProvider = window.AdProvider || []).push({\"serve\": {}});<\/script>\r\n<\/div><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-right:0;padding-left:0\">\n<p>China\u2019s homegrown C919 jet completed its first international commercial flight on Wednesday, a symbolic step towards Beijing\u2019s goal of challenging the decades-long aerospace dominance of Boeing and Airbus.<\/p>\n<p>The narrow-body jet has been billed as a potential competitor to Boeing\u2019s 737 or Airbus\u2019s A320, though the aircraft has yet to receive approval from American or European regulators.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Beijing hopes the domestically produced plane will reduce China\u2019s reliance on foreign technology and help it gain a foothold in the global market.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The C919 jet, produced by the state-owned Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) and operated by Air China, departed Beijing at 3:17 pm (0717 GMT) on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It landed in Mongolia\u2019s capital Ulaanbaatar at 4:58 pm (0858 GMT), according to public flight data.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Checking in for the flight at Beijing Capital International Airport, passenger Hu Yuan told AFP he felt \u201ca sense of pride\u201d flying an international route on a domestically produced plane.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope our domestic planes continue to improve in terms of comfort and overall passenger experience \u2014 even outperforming Boeing and Airbus,\u201d said the 40-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>The C919 is made in China but sources components from countries including the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The Air China route will connect Beijing and Ulaanbaatar with one round-trip flight per day, Xinhua news agency reported in July.<\/p>\n<p>The C919 completed its first commercial flight in May 2023, flying from the Chinese financial hub of Shanghai to Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>Since then it has been regularly used for domestic commercial routes, as well as those between mainland China and Hong Kong.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>COMAC also sent the C919 to be presented at the Singapore airshow in 2024 and 2026, and to the Dubai airshow in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>COMAC has already made its foray into foreign markets with its smaller C909 jets, which seat 78 to 97 passengers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
