A colleague may have offered useful advice, a friend may have raised a recurring concern, or a family member may have mentioned something that becomes significant weeks later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These exchanges shape daily decisions, yet much of their context disappears once the conversation ends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Technology has made many other parts of life easier to preserve and review. Photos, calendars, emails, documents, workouts, and financial activity can all be stored and organized over time. Spoken interactions, despite containing a large share of the information people encounter each day, remain comparatively difficult to capture and interpret.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ABOVE is building a wearable AI platform around that opportunity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company\u2019s pendant captures conversations and other voice-based information from a user\u2019s daily life. Its software combines voice analysis, conversational content, and accumulated context to provide feedback and guidance through an accompanying app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the device can help users revisit details from previous conversations, note-taking is not its primary purpose. ABOVE is designed as an AI coaching product that uses everyday interactions to generate observations, questions, and help move people closer to their goals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe all go through life collecting experiences that shape who we become, yet most of them disappear almost immediately,\u201d says founder and CEO Lyle Maxson. \u201cThe challenge isn\u2019t that we lack experiences. It\u2019s that we rarely have an opportunity to reflect on them with any continuity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company\u2019s premise is that useful guidance does not always come from one pivotal conversation. It can also emerge from patterns across many smaller interactions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ABOVE\u2019s software is designed to identify recurring topics, communication tendencies, commitments, decision-making habits, and areas a user may want to examine more closely. The app can then turn that information into personalized coaching prompts and recommendations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A user might be reminded of a commitment made several days earlier, shown that the same goal has come up repeatedly without a clear next step, or prompted to reconsider how they are approaching a recurring decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMost people initially expect the technology to help them remember conversations,\u201d Maxson says. \u201cBut memory is only one part of what the product is built to do. The larger goal is to turn everyday experiences into useful feedback.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That distinction places ABOVE in a different category from conventional transcription tools.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most meeting software is designed to summarize scheduled calls, capture action items, and create searchable records. ABOVE is intended to work across a broader portion of daily life and use information from multiple interactions when generating its guidance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The product is less focused on documenting isolated conversations than on building enough context to recognize continuity between them. The system might connect several discussions about the same project, identify a promise that has not yet been completed, or highlight a topic that continues to surface.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maxson believes conversations are especially valuable because they capture experiences as they unfold.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJournaling is incredibly valuable, and I encourage people to continue doing it,\u201d he says. \u201cBut journals are written after the fact. They\u2019re filtered through memory, perspective, and intention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spoken interactions provide a different kind of source material. They occur before someone has summarized the experience, selected the most important details, or decided how to describe it later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For ABOVE, that makes conversation useful not simply as a record, but as input for an ongoing coaching system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company is part of a broader shift in wearable technology. Earlier generations of consumer devices focused largely on physical measurements such as steps, exercise, sleep, and heart rate. Newer products are beginning to explore less structured forms of daily information, including voice, environment, and personal context.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advances in speech recognition and generative AI have made that idea more practical. Large volumes of audio can now be summarized, categorized, and connected without requiring users to replay every recording or manually document each interaction. The result is a system designed to move beyond simple recall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of only answering what was said, ABOVE aims to help users consider what repeatedly comes up, what remains unresolved, and what they may want to do next.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The app\u2019s observations are intended as prompts rather than definitive conclusions, leaving users to decide which suggestions are relevant and how to act on them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The larger idea is that people generate a remarkable amount of potentially useful information through conversation, but most of it is lost, fragmented, or left unexamined. ABOVE is attempting to turn that material into a personalized coaching experience grounded in the user\u2019s actual daily life. The pendant gathers the context, the software identifies connections, and the app turns those connections into feedback.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Maxson, the opportunity is not simply to help people remember more.
