Jet fuel costs rose $2.2 billion from the second quarter of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>American said it expects $6 billion in additional jet fuel costs in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>American executives said the carrier continues to see strong demand from consumers, viewing improving revenue metrics as evidence its measures to lift performance are paying off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not a linear progression,\u201d said CEO Robert Isom. \u201cThat\u2019s what I see continuing on out into 2027\u2026 When fuel prices normalize, American is going to be the best investment out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>American has made progress in paying down debt, resulting in gradually lower interest expenses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Executives spoke optimistically about a credit card venture with Citi and also see potential for the airline to regain market share in hubs such as Phoenix, Miami and Philadelphia where it had greater volumes before the pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>American shares fell 8.2 percent in late-morning trading.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
