he said. &#8216;It was here that I discovered my passion for swimming and I joined Loughborough Town swimming club to increase the number of swim sessions I did per week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;At the age of 10 I was selected to swim at City of Leicester (Leicestershire&#8217;s performance swimming club), and I have since gone on to win multiple county titles as well as becoming regional and national champion in my age group. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"646\" height=\"432\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/GettyImages-1598530940.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=646\" class=\"article-image wp-image-29190024\" alt=\"Aquatics Swimming - 2023 Youth Commonwealth Games: Day Two\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t<\/div><figcaption>McCann has already competed at the Youth Commonwealth Games (Picture: Getty Images for Commonwealth Sport)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8216;In order to have achieved this, I have had to remain extremely dedicated, getting up at 4am multiple mornings each week to train since the age of 11.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I am currently studying chemical engineering, and train nine times a week in the pool, as well as three gym sessions, totalling over 20 hours of training (per) week.
