Switzerland is not a member of either bloc.<\/p>\n<p>COMCO said that in digital markets, default settings played a decisive role, with the choice screen aiming to reduce the lock-in effects associated with preconfigured settings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe preliminary investigation will determine whether there are indications of an unlawful restriction of competition under the Cartel Act,\u201d said COMCO.<\/p>\n<p>A Google spokesperson told AFP that the tech giant was aware of the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to cooperating fully with the authority to address their questions,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of July, the EU\u2019s top court upheld a record 4.1-billion-euro ($4.7 billion) fine the bloc slapped on Google for anti-competitive practices related to its Android operating system.<\/p>\n<p>The European Court of Justice dismissed the US tech giant\u2019s second attempt to overturn the penalty imposed by the European Commission in 2018 \u2014 which remains the EU\u2019s highest ever antitrust fine.<\/p>\n<p>The commission, the 27-nation bloc\u2019s antitrust regulator, had accused\u00a0Google\u00a0of abusing the popularity of its Android operating system to restrict competition.<\/p>\n<p>It alleged Google pressured phone makers using Android to pre-install its search engine and Google Chrome browser \u2014 essentially shutting out rivals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
