Tyson Fury insists he has no plans to change trainers after his dad John branded SugarHill Steward a \u2018gym sweeper\u2019.<\/p>\n

Fury is currently preparing for his return to the ring for the first time since December 2024 when he fights Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 11.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old suffered defeat in his last fight, which was a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk after he initially lost his WBC heavyweight title to the Ukrainian in May 2024.<\/p>\n

John Fury was in his son\u2019s corner for that first defeat to Usyk and in an interview this week, the 60-year-old admitted he was furious with Steward\u2019s advice during the heavyweight title clash in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

\u2018If I hadn\u2019t been in that corner, he\u2019d have gone out in the 10th round trying to knock him out \u2013 throwing big punches. What kind of nonsense is that? What kind of Kronk-style rubbish is that?\u2019 John Fury told Playbook Boxing.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s no Emanuel Steward \u2013 he\u2019s nothing like him. He\u2019s just a gym sweeper, that\u2019s all he ever was, living off his granddad\u2019s name or whoever it was. He came over here without even \u00a325 for a plane ticket.\u2019<\/p>\n

But in an exclusive interview with Metro <\/strong>via Ticketmaster, Fury was adamant that Steward will remain part of his team, despite the scathing criticism from his father.<\/p>\n

\u2018We\u2019ve known each other for 16 years,\u2019 Fury said when asked about his relationship with Steward.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s part of the team, always has been and always will be.\u2019<\/p>\n

Fury has made a drastic change ahead of his comeback fight against Makhmudov as he has been training in Thailand since the New Year, rather than his own base in Morecambe.<\/p>\n

\u2018Training is going very well, so far so good,\u2019 Fury said.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m feeling fantastic and Makhmudov is going to get himself into some severe bother. In three weeks time I\u2019m knocking him out cold.<\/p>\n

\u2018I think this has been my longest retirement, 16 months by the time I fight again.<\/p>\n

\u2018I was a normal civilian and it sucked every day I was a civilian.\u2019<\/p>\n
