Nike expects revenues in the upcoming quarter to be down \u201clow-to-mid single-digits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hill has been trying to pivot Nike after the company\u2019s shift towards direct selling allowed other brands like Hoka to amass market share with retailers.<\/p>\n<p>The company has also been beset in leading markets with excess inventory that has forced periodic rounds of heavy discounting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nike has faced especially acute problems in China, where there is intense competition from local brands. In the most recent quarter, revenues in Greater China fell 12 percent to $1.3 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Hill reiterated that the company was committed to China, saying the sports giant was working to strengthen local partnerships, including through local product development.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to be more premium and culturally relevant, and we have to lead with sport,\u201d Hill said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Neil Saunders, managing director of GlobalData, said sales drops in Greater China and the Europe-Middle East-Africa region were concerning, contributing to \u201cthe sense that Nike\u2019s problems are more deep-seated than previously acknowledged and that, consequently, the turnaround is taking much longer than anticipated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saunders described a three percent rise in North America sales as more promising, but that the company\u2019s cautious outlook \u201cadds to the sense that full recovery remains elusive and a long way off.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
